The lone girl woke with a start; cold sweat ran down; as her eyes adjusted to the dim light. She was lying on an old wooden floor, which creaked under her movements. The room was empty beside from the girl; no furniture, no other signs of life.
She moved to stand up and wobbled ever so slightly as if her legs had their own plan. She made her way over to the wall to steady herself and made her way to the only light source in the dim room. To her surprise it was a window that was poorly boarded up, it was so bad that the nails were handing out in odd angles and the wood was thin; thin enough for her to break with her minimal strength.
It seemed like something that 'they' would plan; 'they' wanted her to break through this boarded window, 'they' wanted the thrill of catching her again and again and again and again and again, like some sort of sick game of life and wits.
The girl let out a long sigh and began to pull the weak boards away from the window, of course they broke away easily, it is what 'they' wanted after all. Once all the boards were removed, sunlight filled the disheveled room. She looked back out of the window; there was a forest as far as the eye could see.
"This would make a great place to hide except for the pure fact that it has cameras in it. " She thought out loud with obvious presents of sarcasm.
She had been in this situation too many times before and knew all too well that the forest was all under surveillance. Going through the forest was a long winding river, it warped through the left side of the forest; this would be her best and only chance of escape.
She sighed again and looked directly down to try and work out a way out but her jaw dropped and she shook her head in disbelief, she was on the third floor of what seems to be an old broken down hotel; once again she let out a loud sigh.
"Now getting down is the hard part." She mumbled while checking out the room behind her as the light was showing off all its secrets.
As expected there was nothing but floor boards however there is a single darker floor board in the far right from the window. She made her way towards this particular board; she noticed how weak the other floor boards felt under her bare feet.
She stopped in her tracks as a hand quickly made its way to the center of her chest, below collar bones and focused on the texture under her fingers as it changes from the warm, soft texture of her skin to a smooth, sleek and cold feel then for it to change back to her skin.
She let out a great sigh of relief as her mysterious precious stone, the one thing she hated about her body, the one thing that she would get rid of, if it wouldn't kill her. She shook her head to help clear her thoughts and returned her attention back to the floor boards.
The boards around it where much weaker than the others of the same kind around the darker board, they all creaked under her weight but this one didn't .
