endearment (Jesse Lingard & Marcus Rashford)

Part 13

Jesse pov
I told her to cover her eyes.
She has her left hand cupped over her eyes.
I lead her out by holding her right hand.
I stop walking and stand her beside me.
"Can I look now?" She asks.

Delilah pov
I feel a slight breeze on my arms, I guess I'm outside.
"Yes you can look now" he says behind me.
I remove my hand and I'm greeted with the beautiful view of the skyline of Manchester.
All lit up. The lights twinkling brightly.
"It's beautiful up here" I say looking around.
I feel Jesse wrap a blanket over my shoulder. I smile at him and he smiles back.
I look to my left and see a hammock with fairy lights draped over it.
I walk over to the wooden hammock swing.
On it sits a box of strawberries, with some cream on the side.
I sit down on the hammock and pull my feet up onto it so my knees are up near my Ribs.
Jesse joins next to me and opens the box of strawberries.
"I know you're a sucker for strawberries" he says chuckling as he dips one in the cream.
It's true, I am. I'm easily won over by a box of strawberries and cream. I love them THAT much.
The strawberry he dips into the cream he lifts it up to near my mouth and feeds me it. I smile as I chew trying to keep the cream in my mouth with the edges of my fingers.
I feed Jesse a strawberry back.
I rest my head on his shoulder and just look out over the city.
I wonder what people are doing at this exact moments in time? When I look at a light on in a house I wonder how they're feeling and what's happening in that house.
It's quite weird I know, it strangely fascinates me how people are doing things at the exact same time as you, famous people even.
I don't want to get too deep into my thoughts because I know for a fact I will somehow get into the real meaning of life and all that.
I just smile to myself and enjoy this special moment with Jesse.

I lay my blanket down on the floor and two cushions I found on the hammock.
We sit down on them and laugh and chat.
We lay on our back laughing looking up at the sky.
"What's even is this building we're on top of?" I ask him laughing looking over to his face.
"Just some offices" he replies smiling.
I nod looking back up to the sky away from his face.
"Thanks for doing all of this Jesse" I say, my hand searching for his on the blanket.
"Only the best for you" he replies connecting our hands.
I smile as I feel our fingers interlock.
I feel like I'm ready to say this...
I'm going to do it. I don't need him to say it back I just need him to know.
"I love you Jesse" I say feeling no regret at all.
There is a short silence that feels like forever.
I bite my lip and close my eyes waiting for his answer.
"I love you too Lils" he says, a smile beaming across his face.
I turn to look at him. He does the same to me.
Before I can say anything our lips connect.
The kiss quickly deepens and becomes more passionate.
He straddles on top of me and we all know where this is gonna go...
