"Goodnight, Love," He leaned over and kissed my forehead and turned out the light as I blushed madly. I smiled to myself in the dark and closed my eyes.

I heard him softly strumming his guitar and singing in his room.

"Who knows how long I've loved you,
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime?
If you want me to I will

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do
Endear you to me
Oh, you know I will
I will!"

I woke to a soft nose poking at my forehead (where Paul had kissed me) as if to say "What's this??"

"Good morning, Martha," I reached out and scratched behind her ears.

There was a knock at the door. "Come in,"

Paul stepped inside and knelt beside the bed. "How are you?"

"I feel much better," I answered, making him smile. I sat up and he sat next to me as always.

"Linda," he began.

"Yes?"

"Do you want to try standing independently?"

"Ehh, I guess so," NO, NO I DON'T.

"I'll be right here," he assured me.

"Okay," He helped me up then held his arm a half a foot behind my back.

After about thirty seconds my thighs started burning. I leaned back into his arm and he eased me onto the bed.

"Good, good," He rubbed my back. "You're getting stronger!"
