it wasn't much different now that he had his classification. most of the people he was friends with were older than him anyway and already had theirs. so going back to school and seeing everyone with their partners wasn't all that weird. but now he felt strange.

having everything out there to public knowledge was weird. he was normal. it was what he wanted in the first place. why did he feel so weird about it then? he noticed his friends all standing together, talking amongst each other. he wanted to go over to them; chat about his classification and tell them that he was neutral, but he felt that michael might be weirded out by it, so he refrained. instead, he made his way toward his first block class.

for some reason, on his long walk to class, he noticed just how many cg/l relationships there were at his school. he never really paid mind to them, not really caring about them in any way. but today, for the ten minutes he had been at school, he felt like around every corner there was a little whining to their mommy or daddy.

he took notice to a little girl, whose mommy was knelt down in front of her, talking to her sternly. the girl was sitting on the ground, her knees pulled up to her chest. she looked really sad.

'now repeat to me what i said, because i don't think you understood.' the little girl was pouting, tears rolling down her flushed cheeks. luke felt really bad for her and he hoped she wasn't getting into trouble.

'mommy said - said no potty mouth. but - but lucy said a bad word. i sorry!' a new round of tears was falling from her eyes as she hugged her mommy tightly and her mommy rubbed her back comfortingly. luke smiled fondly.

'alright, i forgive you. but you gotta listen from now on, little one. if you're super good for the rest of the day, you'll get a lolly when we get you back home. okay?' suddenly the little girl's eyes lit up and she smiled, grabbing her mommy's hand and walking off to the little's section of the school, for when they felt extra little and didn't want to go to 'big kid school'

and for some reason, luke found himself really wanting a lolly as he made his way to the first block.

the end of the day rolled around fairly quickly, and luke was restless. not talking to his best friends all day was making him upset, and for some reason, he really wanted to cry. he figured he was just stressed. he saw michael and his two other friends, calum and ashton, sitting outside of the school on a bench. calum was a dominant and ashton was a submissive, and they all met calum when ashton was partnered with him. he seemed nice enough, and they had been friends for about half a year now.

ashton saw him first, waving him over with a small smile. luke looked down as he walked over, trying to avoid michael's eyes. he knew the boy was staring at him, he knew michael too well to think he wasn't.

'where've you been? i wanted to know about the test and your results.' ashton was bouncing with excitement. calum gave him one look and he calmed a bit. what an impact, luke thought.

'i, uh, i'm neutral.' calum and ashton both looked at him with shocked looks, not expecting him to say that.

'oh! uh, that's great, luke.' calum said, smiling at him. luke could tell he wanted to say something, but he figured it might be better if he didn't pry. luke wasn't sure he even cared to know what calum wanted to say.

luke finally got the courage to look up at michael. when he did, the boy was staring at him with a frown on his face. calum and ashton said their goodbyes before luke or michael said anything to each other.

'i'm sorry, i didn't mean to offend you, mikey.' michael just nodded.

'sorry for hanging up on you, i guess.'

that was it and michael drove luke home.
