Celebratory Lunch

School Hallway

Troy walked up to Veronica.

"Did you know Gabriella got into the Freshmen Honours Program?"  Troy asked.

"Ryan just told me," Veronica told him.

"Why wouldn't she tell me?" Troy asked confused.

"Maybe she didn't know how? This is a big thing." Veronica told him.

"I know." Troy nodded.

"Look don't freak out. Just talk to her after school." Veronica told him.

"Why can't I talk to her now?" Troy asked.

"Because I'm taking her to a celebratory lunch, " with that Veronica left.

Cafeteria

Taylor, Gabriella, Martha, and Kelsi were sitting together. Veronica walked up to them.

"Get off your cute little butts ladies. We are not eating cafeteria muck today. We're eating out." Veronica told them.

"Fine by me," Kelsi said as she made a face while moving her mystery meat.

"Why?" Gabriella asked.

"We're celebrating you getting into Standford's Freshmen Honours Program," Veronica told her.

Taylor and Gabriella's eyes widened in shock.

Martha and Kelsi turned to Gabriella and congratulated her.

"How-how did you find out?" Gabriella asked stuttering.

"Flyers are going around school," Veronica told her.

"Does Troy know?" Gabriella asked.

"Yeah, but you can worry about that later. Right now we are going to eat until we have food babies and then shop till we drop." Veronica told her.

"I don't know..."  Gabriella trailed off.

"Come on you're leaving in a week. How about this we won't shop for clothes we'll go to a book store." Veronica told her.

"Okay." Gabriella smiled.

I don't understand smart people... Veronica thought.
