"I just was told by the Rosiers that their son will not marry you because he has fallen in love with your best friend." Said Mr. Taschereau to his daughter "Would you have anything to do with this?"
"Not even I can control matters of the heart." Said Freya indignantly.
"And who do you want to marry?" Asked her father. "That halfblood you're always with?"
"That half blood happens to treat me better and make me happier than anyone ever has." She said calmly. Tom Riddle had heard every single word she had just said.
"Well, I think," started Mr Taschereau.
"What does it matter what you think? This is the rest of my life." She Said.
"I am your father." He said.
"A father who abandoned my mother and only collected me when it was socially obligatory." She Said.
"Diamond, you know that isn't true." He said.
"Isn't it?" She Said.
"I am your father, and I will see that you marry the right man, why not give Finnick Nott a chance?" He asked. "I've already talked with him, he's in the other room actually. Finnick!"
The younger Nott came into the room.
"Freya, I know we've had our differences, but I really think we could make this work." He said.
"No, I don't think it will." She Said coldly.
"Well I'm absolutely mad for you, what are you going to do? Drive me to a looney house?" He Said, faking desperation.
"No." She said, almost sweetly. Tom felt his heart drop. Until he heard what she said next.
"I'll call you a taxi." And with that Freya Taschereau left to the next room where Tom was hiding.
She kept walking until she hit an ottoman she lay down on it and just lay there, her face buried in the pillow.
"Come out, Tom, I know you're there." She Said, turning her face.

The pair had been dating for two weeks, and had grown rather inseparable. Tom felt a strange calm when he was in proximity to her. Most would think if ever he had feelings, he would push them away. But in reality Tom was far too intelligent for that. When he liked something, he needed to know all about it, he needed to keep it close, he needed everyone to know that it was his.
"Sorry, Freya." He Said as she turned around so she was on her back, and he lifted her legs and he pulled them onto his lap.
"My father is the worst." She Said. She immediately bit her words. "Sorry Tom,"
"It's fine, you're upset." He Said as he pulled her closer. He hated her father too. He hated most of her family for different reasons. He hated her step mother for hurting her, he hated her father for trying to keep them apart and he hated her sister for stealing Freya's attention away from him. The only Taschereau he didn't detest was Freya. "So I really make you that happy?" He asked, smiling like a little boy who just learnt he could have ice cream for dinner.
"Well, more than anyone ever has, and thats a relatively low bar." She Said, blushing.
"Oh, now don't back out of your own words. I make you happy and I treat you right." He Said smugly, pulling her onto his lap.
"Well I make you happy." She Said.
"I'm not denying that." He sAid. She rolled her eyes and smiled. "I'll take care of Nott for you."
"You don't have to-"
"It wasn't an offer, it was a promise."
She placed her head on his chest. "Thankyou."
Tom just sat there with her in his arms. She sank into him.
"Tom?" She Asked
"What?" He Said, looking into her eyes that tended to drive him wild.
"Please don't take over the worl." She said quietly.
"Why?" He asked.
"Because, if you do The whole wizarding world will suffer." She Said.
"No, it won't." He Said. "It will prosper."
"No." She said.
"If you become Voldemort, I will run away from you." She Said.
"What?" He Said.
"If you destroy half of wizarding Britain's population, I will leave you, no matter how painful for me." She Said.
"Why, you could live forever by my side." He said.
"No, Tom, please just promise." She Said, looking at him imploringly.
"I promise." He Said. And before she had time to tell if he was lying, he engulfed her in a kiss. It was slow, as he did what he knew she liked, to wipe her mind of any doubts she was having about him. She responded, doing what she knew he liked. And as she always did she broke away too soon for Tom's liking.
She smiled at him.

The month of August had just begun, it was very hot for the time of yea. They were once again at a pure blood function. Tom was talking to Mr. Taschereau as Freya introduced herself to other pure bloods.
