Chapter 4

Natsuki stirred awake, dazed and confused by her unfamiliar surroundings.

She remembered she was in Yuri's room, yet saw no sign of the other girl.

She saw the light was on in the bathroom, assuming that's where she was as she began dressing in her clothes from the day before.

She would have to break dress code for the day. Not that she really cared.

She heard muffled sounds from the bathroom, confirming her idea that Yuri was indeed in there. Pleasing herself with a knife.

Natsuki blushed, wondering how someone could become aroused by a freaking kitchen knife.

She dismissed the thought with a shake of her head,  rising from the covers as she took note of the time. 6:45am.

Yuri sure gets up early.

Natsuki began dressing in her clothes from yesterday.

She's have to break dress code for today, not that she really cared anyway.

As she pulled off the blue sweatpants Natsuki felt as if there were eyes on her.

She slowly turned her head to see a blushing Yuri, gripping her hair and biting her lip, standing in the bathroom doorway.

Natsuki squeaked, pulling the pants back up in an attempt to cover herself.

Yuri seemed to snap back into reality, her eyelashes fluttering as her blush worsened.

"S-Sorry!" Yuri said.

"I-It's fine." Natsuki said, turning away with blush. "You just surprised me, that's all."

An awkward silence filled the space between them as Yuri turned around and Natsuki finished getting dressed.

Yuri cleared her throat and Natsuki noticed the taller girl was already dressed in her uniform for the day.

"L-Let's go." Yuri said in her usual shy voice as the two made their way down the stairs.

"Oh man, the cupcakes! We forgot to frost them!" Natsuki whined, slumping against the kitchen wall with a huff.

"T-There's still time! We can finish then really fast if we work together!" Yuri rushed to Natsuki's side.

Natsuki took out some pre-made bags of blue icing she made at home from her sports bag.

Yuri shrugged off her schoolbag as well, grabbing a bag and beginning to ice some cupcakes.

The two worked quickly and soon they had the base coat done for all the cupcakes.

Next Natsuki grabbed the bag with pink frosting, cutting a very very small hole in the tip.

She handed the bag to Yuri, who looked at her rather confused.

"Y-Your handwriting's better. I need you to do it." Natsuki huffed, acting as if though Yuri were annoying her when she was actually making her stomach do somersaults.

Yuri nodded and wrote "Literature Club" across one of the cupcakes in cursive letters.

Natsuki smiled at her friend, if that's what they even were, as Yuri looked at her expectantly.

"Is that good?" Yuri asked, motioning to the cupcake.

"Perfect." Natsuki said, though she was actually referring to the girl before her rather than the treat.

Yuri continued glazing the words across all of the cupcakes, Natsuki watching in awe at how undeniably adorable Yuri looked when focused.

Yuri's tongue was slightly sticking out from the corner of her lips, her eyebrows furrowed together in concentration and her nose crinkled in thought.
