"If they want to give you a name, take it, make it your own. Then they can't hurt you with it anymore" (G. RR Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire)
NOUR'S POV
"Christ, Nour, stop pacing around. You're giving me a headache" Matthias sighs and I immediately stop and sit on his bed.
"But I'm bored" I whine, knowing I'm not exactly being the perfect caretaker right now.
"And I have been telling you over and over again that I don't need my own personal doctor. Just go away. Have a nap. Have a long run. I don't know, just spend this extra energy you seem to have. What's up with you anyway? You seem a bit on edge".
I grab a corner of the blanket, avoiding his prying eyes. Even though he's the one who needs to stay in bed, as he is still recovering from his agression, he is still the doctor in this room. I'm pretty sure he's trying to figure out what's wrong with me.
"Nothing's wrong. Where's your brother anyway?" I ask, willing to change the topic. There's no need for him to know that I'm craving it. Again. It's been two weeks since that thing happened between Rémy and I in the shower and for a freak like me, it's way too long. But I'm not touching myself. Gross.
"What happened between you and Rémy?" he wants to know, curiosity lacing his voice. "I haven't seen Renan for a while and Rémy is being akward around you"
I take a quick look at the brown hair guy currently sprawled out on the bed. He looks like his brother but he is far less intimidating. I'm guessing it has to do with him not being a shifter. Or the fact that he is smaller than the rest of us. Plus, he's the youngest. Yeah, Sherlock is my middle name.
"You should ask him" I reply and my chest feels a bit tight when I add, "I haven't seen him much lately. He's been avoiding me"'
"Well, lucky you" he mutters. "He's been harassing me since I came back from the hospital. It's going to be tough, hiding the truth from him"
"Yeah, Rémy can be quite persistent", I mumble back, my eyes still on my lap.
He must have sense my mood because he sits straight, his back against the pillow, before gently grabbing my chin, forcing me to look at him in the eyes.
"Hey, it's okay" he says with a conforting smile. "I know my brother and he isn't mad at you or anything. Hell, with the way he's been acting, I'd say he's probably mad at himself. He's not very good at the whole talking about my feelings thing but I can tell he likes you. Far more than Renan, which is a bit sad for the guy"
"Why are you telling me that?" I say in a not-so-casual tone, although I do feel a bit better now. "It's not like I care about your brother anyways"
"Sure, you don't" he smirks. "Both of you are so entertaining to watch. Just bring me popcorn"
I ignore him and he closes his eyes, looking perfectly happy with the prospect of spending his entire day in bed. So-called doctor Matthy lets his used tissues everywhere but in the bin and Rémy and I have to bring him actual food, or he would be eating cereals all day. I can't help but smile at his dorkiness. I have to admit, I'm growing fond of the guy. He just has the brightest spirit!
"Whatever you want to ask me, just bring it on" he eventually says, not bothering to open his eyes.
"What, you're a mind-reader now?" I ask, a bit surprised by his perceptiveness.
"Nah, just an underestimated genius" he says proudly, before asking again: "So? It's again about my brother, I suppose?"
"Erm, do you have any ideas how I could... How I could..."
