(Deus Vult - God Wills/God Wills It - Latin)

Year 1096

My name is Y/N, and I'm a simple pheasant girl who lives in the (AWESOME) country of Prussia/Teutonic Knights Recently, the Muslims from the Middle East and Arabia have been trying to conquer Italy and Spain. They have been burning down churches, executing Christians, and threatening the Catholic church and European countries.

This eventually lead to the Pope ordering a "Crusade" where thousands of Prussian, English, French, and some Siberian knights to attack the Muslims in Israel to take back the "Holy Land". My country has recently also been in a war with Russia, the largest empire on earth right now. I don't see why we even went to war against them. All we did was create a very, very powerful enemy.

Soon, the Crusader Knights would ride on their horses straight through my home town. I couldn't wait. I had fallen in love with Gilbert- I mean Sir Prussia/Teutonic Knights. We were both lovers, and he didn't care if anyone knew, which is one thing I liked about him. Not that he was a "bad boy" or he didn't care about anything, but that he didn't care if anyone knew we were lovers. Many of his people respected him for that, including me.

Later that day, Gilbert was dressed in his full battle armor aside from his helmet, and came riding into town square on his horse. His men followed him on their horses too, each of them wearing all of their armor. The crowds cheered for them and clapped, all of them chanting "Deus Vult!" With me being one of them. Gilbert had promised me after the parade, he'd come and see me one last time before he left.

Another Time Skip

I sat inside of my cottage waiting for Gilbert to arrive. I soon heard a knock on the door, "Liebe? Are jou here?" I heard the voice of my (AWESOME) lover on the other side of the door, "Yes, I'm here." I replied. He opened the door and closed it behind him. He came in and sat beside me, "So Liebe, how vas jour day?" He asked sweetly, "It was fine, I'm just a bit sad you're leaving tomorrow...and I'm worried you might not come back."

He pulled me into a tight hug, "Jou know I'd never leave jou and never come back!" I hugged him back, "I know...But I'm still worried about you and your men." He stood up, "Come on, Liebe, I know just how to make jou feel better!" He said walking upstairs. I smiled and blushed a bit, following him.

Time Skip

When I woke up the next morning, I realized I was no longer in Gilbert's warm embrace. I rolled over to where Gilbert was last night, only to see the covers left just the way they were when he left. I seen a note left on his pillow and I picked it up to read it, "Dear Y/N, Thanks for last night Kesesese. Also, I never wanted to leave you, but I thought if I left before you woke up, there was no way you could try and stop me. You know I don't have a choice. I'll be back before you know it. I love you, don't ever forget it. - Gilbert"

I felt a tear slide down my cheek as I read the letter. I sat up and folded my arms. It wasn't fair he had to leave...or maybe it was considering he was the personification of the country going to war. But still! I didn't like the fact that he left without me getting to say goodbye. But...I'll wait for him to come home...no matter how long it takes...
