Chapter 9 "The Results"

Before anyone could say anything, Avaritia already cut the punching bag into pieces.

"....WOAH! HE WAS SO FAST!"

The other kids were amazed at Avaritia's speed.

"Amazing..."
Darnel stood there with his mouth wide open. He never knew Avaritia's real strength.

"Darnel."

"Huh?"

"Give me."
Avaritia held his hand out.

"Huh? What?"
Darnel looked at him with confusion.

"The Gem."
Avaritia said with a frown.

"Oh, sorry."
Darnel gave Avaritia the gem.

"Ehehehehe..."
Avaritia was looking at the gem happily as if gaining a new toy.

"NEXT!"
The Teacher called the next kid.

Next was Darnel.
He started, by saying his spell's name.

"Thunder Arrow!"

Darnel hit the Target and caused the punching bag to fall into two pieces.
No one reacted, as if they weren't interested.
Darnel sighed and walked back to Avaritia with his head down.

After the exam finished, everyone was allowed to leave and Avaritia and Darnel walked back home.

"Avaritia, I didn't know you could be this fast."
Darnel said with a smile.

"I'm used to running away!"
Avaritia proudly replied.

"...what?"

"So if you need any help in running away, you can ask me!"

"Um, thanks?"
Darnel smiled wryly

"By the way, why were we in that giant house?"
Avaritia asked.

Darnel stared at Avaritia for a moment before sighing.

"Well, people can choose to take a writing exam, which tests their intelligence, for magic. It allows them to learn advanced knowledge of magic.
Or the test we took, that allows us to take classes, for offensive magic, or skills. Did you know that?"

"Huh? What?"

Avaritia stared at Darnel blankly.

"...Ah, we've arrived!"

Both of them returned home and waited for their results.

"Darnel! Avaritia! Your exam results are here!"

Lilia shouted. Darnel and Avaritia soon left their rooms and approached the box that came.
In it were two uniforms and their exam results.

"Hey, we passed! High five!"
Darnel stretched out his hand with a smile.

"Huh? Since when were you here?"
Avaritia answered startled.

Darnel stared at Avaritia with disappointment.

The next day they walked to school. Darnel led Avaritia to their new classroom with the map he got. They sat down on their seats and waited for the teacher to arrive.
After a few minutes the teacher arrived.

"Hello, everyone! I'm your new teacher! Mr. Teacherus! As you can tell from my name, I was born to teach!"

No one reacted to the teacher's words.

"...Alright then, everyone introduce yourselves one by one!"

When it was Avaritia's turn, he already knew how to introduce himself, thanks to the other kids examples.
