Here's the thing: Whenever Wallace was young, his mother would tell him scary stories. Most of them to curb his appetite for danger, which even in the single digits of age, had been present. Most of them had included strange creatures that had snatched up bad kids from their parent's arms, never to return until they were good again.

Wallace had lived his entire life thinking that those stories were just that - stories. Well, it turns out that he was wrong. So wrong, in fact, that he was being led through the forest with Bella at his side by a couple of males who had in fact seen another male turn into a wolf.

Beside him, Bella was shivering faintly. Wallace knew it wasn't from the cold air blowing in through the trees either. The female looked just as frazzled as Wallace felt himself, but she wore it clearer on her face than he ever could. Bella and her emotions being as transparent as the blue water in tropical islands - crystal clear.

As they walked, a small cabin made itself known amongst the foliage. It was a small cabin, maybe holding two bedroom's tops. Beside it was a familiar black truck, and that was all the clues Wallace needed to know that this was somehow that male's - Sam's - cabin.

Jared spoke whenever they were a few feet from the door. "Don't stare. Sam doesn't like it,"

That seemed to be the only warning they got before they were led into the cabin, Wallace moving first so that Bella wouldn't have to. Wallace wasn't sure what he was expecting, but a nicely decorated house with the warm smell of muffins wasn't it.

Bella peered over Wallace's shoulder, body pressed tightly to his back. "Wallace?"

Wallace wasn't sure why she was saying his name like a question, but he stuck his hand out behind himself, and felt something inside of himself settle whenever Bella interlaced their fingers. It wasn't a typical thing for them, yet it seemed almost effortless to be connected in that way. Like they had done it a million times before.

"Oh," This was a surprised voice from the corner of the room.

Turning his gaze towards the noise, Wallace watched as a dark haired female stepped into view. He hated to admit it, even to himself, but the first thing that Wallace noticed about the female was the collection of horrific scars that were left on the female's cheek.

They were gruesome almost. One scar making the corner of her eye bend downwards, her eyelid faintly drooped over her brown iris. Despite the scars, Wallace could tell that she was a fairly pretty female, as the other side of her face was perfectly unmarred and smooth.

"Sam? What's going on?" The female asked, looking behind Wallace and Wallace felt as Sam pushed past him and Bella towards the scarred female. The larger male embracing the female so warmly that Wallace darted his eyes away, feeling like he was intruding on something intimate.

As Sam pulled away, the female's face was in a frown. "Oh Jacob, how typical,"

Then without another word, she motioned for Wallace and Bella to take a seat at a nearby table. "Take a seat, both of you. I have some muffins in the kitchen if either of you are hungry,"

Without waiting for a response, the female was bustling into the direction of where Wallace supposed the kitchen was. Still, Wallace held stiffly by the front door, with Bella pressed to his side, still silent and tremoring.

"Sit down, we won't bite," This was the voice of a younger male, whom of which looked like he was Jacob's age. His hair was in what Wallace called the 'Justin Bieber hair swoop' style and it rested over his dark eyes. "Well, at least I won't."
