[ i got a new laptop and decided that wallace needed an update. enjoy. ]

Here's the thing: The Cullen's weren't as bad as Wallace had initially thought. With that said, that doesn't mean that Wallace would willingly choose to hang out with them. Much less spend the entire night at their house.

"The scent that was in Bella's house was also in Wallace's," Edward states, and beside Wallace on the couch, Bella sucks in a heavy breath. Her dark down eyes holding the same confused expression they had whenever Edward and Wallace had returned to her house, telling her that she needed to think of an excuse to tell Charlie so she could spend the night with the Cullen's.

"On his clothing?" This is Esme, whom of which is sitting in the corner of the room. Her heartshaped face is drawn downwards with a deep frown. Beside her is Carlisle, whom of which looks like he's pondering something as Edward opens his mouth to speak again.

"Not on his clothes but around his house," Edward corrects, then adds on. "I was trying to find any source of the scent in Wallace's house but it seems like they were good at taking anything they touched."

"So it's like we expected?" This is Carlisle, finally done with his pondering. "They're playing with the blind spots in Alice's visions."

Wallace isn't sure what he means but he can't seem to find it in himself to care at all. All he can remember is that Daniel is missing. "And my brother," Immortal eyes all swivel to Wallace's direction, "He's missing."

"We don't know that for sure," Edward states, but then shrugs his shoulders. "But it is a possibility."

Bella gasps aloud, her wide dark eyes turning towards Wallace. "Shelby?"

"I'm going to be watching her?" This is Alice posing the question. The brunette shaking her head as she dismisses a vision and turns towards Edward. "You think she's in danger as well?"

"We can't be too careful," Edward states, and his voice is grim. "Even if Wallace's brother is alright, someone is obviously tracking Wallace. That means he's in danger."

A thick silence settles in between all of them and Wallace the longer he sits still can feel his panic building. Bella must sense this because at their sides, she clings their fingers together so she can squeeze his hand in a nonverbal form of comfort.

"I'll take the first watch," Alice states, giving a slim smile. She meets Wallace's eyes then, trying to seem convincing as she speaks. "I'll make sure no harm comes to her."

Then as Alice leaves, meeting Jasper outside from where he was trying to keep his distance away from the two humans in the living room, Wallace closes his eyes. He places his head in his hands, cursing softly underneath his breath.

"I'll go make up the guest rooms," Esme states softly, speaking to someone that Wallace can't see but he can hear the footsteps of the female receding as she leaves the room.

As Wallace lifts his head, cheeks red from frustration and from resting on the heels of his palms, he notices that the only people in the room are himself, Bella, and Edward. Whom of which is standing by the arm of the couch while Bella and Wallace are sitting down. The former of the two is watching the side of Wallace's face.

"Wallace?" She questions, voice soft and trembly. "Is there anything we can do?"

Wallace doesn't miss how she includes Edward in her statement. "I've called Daniel five times,"

Bella sucks in another breath but Wallace keeps speaking. "He hasn't picked up. I'm trying to remain optimistic here. After all, it's not like my brother is the poster boy for responsibility but my gut is telling me to face the facts."
