Trigger warnings:

3rd person POV

Logan, Roman, and Deceit stood shocked in the doorway while Patton lay sobbing on the ground. Deceit fainted, and Roman stood there shocked. Logan looked around. He gently picked up Deceit and took him to his room. He tucked Deceit into bed and walked back to Virgil's room. Roman was sitting on the floor rocking and mumbling to himself. Patton was clutching Virgil's jacket, still sobbing. Logan walked over to where Patton lay.

"Shhhh. You're okay. You're fine. It'll all be satisfactory soon." Logan murmured into Patton's ear.

Truthfully Logan knew things wouldn't be the same.

He continued to whisper sweet-nothings to Patton. Patton grasped tightly onto Logan. Logan held him there. Patton eventually fell asleep from exhaustion. Logan carried Patton into his room. Patton broke down. Logan was there.

Logan then went back to Roman.

"Roman?" Logan softly said.

Roman continued mumbling to himself as he gripped his hair.

"Roman, buddy..." Logan gently spoke.

Roman looked up at Logan.

"Where's Virgil?" Roman asked.

"Well.... he's gone right now." Logan replied.

"He'll be back, right?"

"I don't know."

"Oh"

"Hey. Let's get you to bed, ok?" Logan said while taking Roman's hands. He led Roman to his own room and tucked him in.

"Is this all just a bad dream?" Roman asked.

"I hope so."

Logan turned to leave, but Roman grabbed his hand.

"Stay." He mumbled sleepily.

Logan sat down on the edge of Romans bed and ran his fingers through Roman's hair, something Logan used to do for Virgil all those years ago.

"Can you sing for me?"

Logan nodded.

I Do Not Own This Song!!!

"End of May or early June
This picture-perfect afternoon we shared
Drive the winding country road
Grab a scoop at À La Mode
And then we're there
An open field that's framed with trees
We pick a spot and shoot the breeze
Like buddies do
Quoting songs by our favorite bands
Telling jokes no one understands
Except us two
And we talk and take in the view
All we see is sky for forever
We let the world pass by for forever
Feels like we could go on for forever this way
Two friends on a perfect day
We walk a while and talk about
The things we'll do when we get out of school
Bike the Appalachian trail or
Write a book or learn to sail
Wouldn't that be cool?
There's nothing that we can't discuss
Like boys we wish would notice us but never do
He looks around and says to me
"There's nowhere else I'd rather be"
And I say, "me too"
And we talk and take in the view
We just talk and take in the view
All we see is sky for forever
We let the world pass by for forever
Feels like we could go on for forever this way, this way
All we see is light for forever
'Cause the sun shines bright for forever
Like we'll be alright for forever this way
Two friends on a perfect day
And there he goes
Racing toward the tallest tree
From far across the yellow field I hear him calling, "follow me" there we go
Wondering how the world might look from up so high
One foot after the other
One branch then to another
I climb higher and higher
I climb 'til the entire
Sun shines on my face
And I suddenly feel the branch give way
I'm on the ground
My arm goes numb
I look around
And I see him come to get me
He's come to get me
And everything's okay
All we see is sky for forever
We let the world pass by for forever
Buddy, you and I for forever this way, this way
All we see is light
'Cause the sun burns bright
We could be alright for forever this way
Two friends
True friends
On a perfect day"

Logan sang the ending softly as Roman eyes closed. He quietly stood up and left the room. When Roman needed help, Logan was there.

Logan here muffled screams from down the hall. They lead to Deceits room. He entered the room. Deceit was dragging his nails across his face and neck. Logan walked up to him and gently but firmly took his hands away from his face. Deceit screamed every mean thing he could think of at Logan whilst trying to fight him. Logan took it all, and when Deceit calmed down enough, Logan stood up and got some bandaids for Deceits face.

"I'm sorry." Deceit said.

"It's quite alright."

"I s-should of done something." Deceit cried.

"We all should've but..... we can't, and now we have to live with that."

"No! I-i should've been there! I thought he would b-be fine, but deep down I knew he w-wasn't okay!"

"You lied to yourself."

"I hate being me!"

"Deceit look at me. We all made mistakes. Deceit you where the best out of all of us. You helped Virgil when we hurt him. You were there for him. He loved you and don't you forget that!"

Deceit hugged Logan tightly. He cried and cried until he fell asleep in Logan's arms. Logan gently laid him back down. When Deceit broke down Logan was there.

Logan numbly traveled through the halls. Night came and went. While walking over to Virgil's room he was met with a ready eyed Patton and Roman.

"It wasn't a dream." Roman choked.

Patton almost burst out in tears. Roman glared at Logan.

"Aren't you sad?! Do you not care about Virgil?!" Roman screamed.

Logan just stood there.

"Your just an emotionless robot!" Roman yelled as he pushed past Logan and ran to his room.

Patton and Logan watched him go.

"You did care, right?" Patton asked.

"Of course."

Patton shook his head.

"Are you not sad?"

Logan stared blankly at Patton.

"Maybe Roman was right." Patton mumbled as he quickly walked back to his room.

Logan stood in shock, as he to went to his own room.

Logan closed the door and slid down it. Big fat tears rolled down his face. He finally broke. He burst into tears, the reality of the situation thrown into him. He missed Virgil. Logan broke down, but nobody was there for him.
