our professor asked us, "which part of your body is the strongest?"

some of them answered, "teeth"
some answered, "the bones in our leg"
and most of them answered, "heart"

some of them even joked that it's our classmates hair that's the strongest

they were busy making hilarious jokes while i was thinking of the answer myself

one of our classmates that was always so poetic raised her hand and said "our tongue, ma'am"

they looked dumbfounded and i was a little confused myself since as far as i know there's no strong bone within our tongue

immediately after she continued, "our tongue may have no bones, but it's strong enough to tear a person's world apart and that includes the heart."

everyone went "awe" because of her answer. she has a very deep point. i was about to agree yet something in me kept me bothered. it's like there's something i want to say but i couldn't tell.

however, the professor didn't looked surprised at all. it's like it was expected of her so as her deep answer. the expression plastered on her face says something like she was looking for a specific answer to her question.

it's at the edge of my mind come on

i looked at my best friend because she was busy showing off her pretty nails that goes well with her long fingers. she was busy telling a story and as rude as it sounds i was only half-listening. i was still bothered of which part of the body is the strongest because i really felt that i know it yet i couldn't find the words to say what i know

my other bestfriend was calling my name, she looked a little pissed with a mix of a look that's about to tear up. yes, your girl's whining. she said she scarred her pinky and it was beginning to have a dark shade of red. once i saw her scar i scolded her because yet again she was being clumsy. as the acting mother of us three, i cleaned her wound while telling her to be extra careful next time. when i was almost done with her pinky, i looked at her hand for a while and she laughed while jokingly saying,

"hey, rené are you alright? i know my hand's pretty but you know i can't give it to you"

i was about to laugh and say something witty in response but our professor spoke

"keep quite everyone, is there anyone else that has their idea?"

and that was it. the answer was so obvious for me all along that i didn't even know what came up to me when i raised my hand and stood up to answer

i looked at everyone and to my professor, "the one i raised is the strongest, ma'am"

they all looked curious yet my professor was smiling at me. as if she knew it was the answer she was looking for

"kindly tell us why, miss" she smiled at me

i took a deep breathe before answering

"i've once read a book and after reading the entire piece i realized how magically strong our hands are. they are unbearably beautiful not only because they hold on to things, but also because it let things go.”⁣
