Margot's POV
As my dad pulls into a parking spot in front of our local country club, I feel an unfamiliar nervous feeling bubble up inside of me. I'm not one to get anxious, so naturally feeling nervous makes me extremely anxious. Which I don't like. I'd like to think that this feeling is because of the maid of honor speech I have to inevitably give, but I know that it's because of a certain boy.
We both get out of the car and promptly make our way to the main entrance, since my dad and I are the type of people that are always early.
As we step inside and walk to the banquet hall where the rehearsal dinner will be held, I see a head of brown curly hair quickly walk by the doorway of the hall.
I involuntarily grin, finally realizing how much I actually do like Harry, even though I met him such a short time ago. I wonder if he feels the same?
Before I have time to hypothetically answer my question, the man himself is standing right in front of me.
"Hello Margot."
"Harry! You scared me for a second there! I didn't see you," I laugh.
"I can be a man of many surprises," he smirks, rolling up the sleeves on his white button up shirt.
I raise my eyebrows. "Oh really?"
"You'll find out soon enough," Harry says as he walks away.
As I stand there with my mouth wide open, Rebecca walks over and engulfs me in a hug.
"Margot! I'm so happy you're here," she says into my shoulder.
"Not as happy as I am for you Becca."
The bride-to-be grabs my hand and brings me over to where I'll be sitting, which is conveniently next to Harry. Lovely.
As I sit down and wait for the dinner to be served, Harry comes and sits next to me.
"Long time no see."
"Harry!" I joke, "it's been forever! How have you been?"
He holds his hand over his stomach in laughter, and I mentally pat my self on the back for being so funny.
"I've been good, been thinking about a certain girl lately, so things seem to be looking up," he smirks.
"Oh Harold you're too much," I blush, swatting my hand at him like the ladies in old hollywood movies.
Instead of responding, Harry gently grabs my hand that I swatted at him and kisses it, his green eyes daintily looking up at me through his long lashes.
I quietly gasp, surprised at his flirty behavior, even though it shouldn't come as a shock to me at this point.
With that, he gets up yet again, and goes to talk to Liam, Rebecca's fiancé. Harry really likes to leave at weird times, doesn't he?
Wait! Liam! I completely forgot that I haven't even met the man yet. I quietly cuss at myself for being such an idiot, waiting for Harry to finish talking to him so that I can approach him alone, since I feel like that'll be best.
After a few minutes, I notice Harry walk away from Liam, so I take that as my cue to make my way up to him. As I approach him, I realize that he's much more attractive than in the pictures Rebecca has shown me. I'm impressed.
"Hi Liam, I'm sorry that we haven't met sooner, I'm-"
"Margot! Becca's maid of honor! I'm so pleased to meet you." He pulls me into a hug, lightly patting my back as he does so.
When he pulls away moments later, he shakes my hand, smiling at me with one of the best sets of teeth I've ever seen.
"Hi, I can't wait for us to be friends, since you'll be my cousin's husband after all. What will that make you? My cousin-in-law?"
"Yeah I think so," he laughs, "either way I'm sure we'll get along great."
Liam pauses. "So I hear that you've been getting along quite well with my best mate Harry?" He winks.
"Yes you could say that, he's one of the sweetest guys I've ever met."
"And I'd have to agree with you there love, he's one of the good ones. Hey! Maybe I'll be at your wedding soon!"
"Liam! We've just met, so we'll see what happens."
"Well I'm hopeful Margot."
"Liam! Sweetie!" Becca calls from the other side of the room.
"Duty calls," Liam says with a nod of his head, walking over to his bride-to-be.
I smile to myself, happy that I've met Liam, and that I was finally able to see how perfect he is for Rebecca.
I make my way back over to my seat, sitting down just as I hear the sound of clinking glass, looking over to see Becca tapping her wine glass with a spoon.
"Hi everyone! Thank you so much for coming, it means the world to us. So, I'd like to bring your attention to Margot, my maid-of-honor, who will be saying a little something to you all," she says while beckoning to me.
I timidly stand up, feeling everyone's eyes on me, including Harry's who I see standing at the far end of the room leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest.
Well, this should be interesting.
