Sun rays beamed down on my face, I could feel my skin soaking in the light, the grass underneath me scratched against my clothed skin yet it wasn't uncomfortable in fact it was the total opposite, it was comfortable and calming. My hands laid at my side the person sitting next to me hand kept brushing against mine totally on purpose, of course, I smiled my eyes still closed "if you're going to hold my hand do it."

He chuckled and laced his fingers with mine "happy."

"Much" I mumbled.

We laid there together for a whole in silence, basking in the New York warmth and peace until he broke it "Dotty?"

"Steve"

Next to me I felt him move "can I ask you something?" I opened one eye seeing him laying on his side staring at me.

I rolled over so I too was on my side "you can ask me anything you know that."

"It's been two years since the war and only now has life seemed to be getting back to normal. We both have jobs we love, we have each other and it's no secret that I love you more than anything so will you Dorothy Rebecca Barnes-"

"There you two are" Steve cursed and groaned in annoyance, I chuckled at him slightly and looked towards James who collapsed down on the grass by our heads "I've been looking for you two for an hour. You don't it yet punk" James nudged Steve's shoulder.

"I was just about to" he sighed, James instantly looked guilty.

"Done what?" I asked confused.

"Nothing, Nothing little sister" he pulled at my arm "Come on let's go get something to ear, I'm Hungary."

I laughed standing up "you're always hungry."

"So" he shrugged back.

I looked back at Steve expecting him to be up on his feet instead he was laying on his back pale, blood coming from his eyes, nose, ears and mouth. "Steve" I screamed running over to him, shaking his still body praying for him to wake up but I knew it was too late.

"It's all your fault" with tears in my eyes I turned around to see James on his knees and his shirt slowly being stained red.

"James" I started to crawl to him.

"Stay away from me" he spat "it's always your fault, since the day we were born. I always had to look after you, my weak pathetic little sister."

"James I-"

"And now I will die because of you. But at least I'll be free of you."

"You don't mean that" I sobbed.

"Oh but I do" he started to cough up crimson red blood onto the grass, he fell from his knees on his front his body unmoving, I screamed standing in between the two people I love the most dead bodies.
