"Get off me, you guppy," Mako growled and ripped a few pieces of seaweed off, but Lionfish only tangled him in more. Eventually, Mako was completely bound, unable to free himself. Lionfish floated nearby him, grinning victoriously.
"I win." He bragged.
"What has gotten into you? I'm no head of the family, you're acting outlandishly!" Mako shouted, clearly frustrated.
Shark, Ray, and Krait swam up to Naida's side. "What's going on?" Shark asked, not very surprised that Lionfish was involved. "Can't I leave Lionfish alone for a minute without him causing some kind of trouble?" He sighed and shook his head with disappointment, his dark grey hair swaying in the water in a satisfying way.
"Well, Mako explained to me what would happen if he and Krait didn't bestow their gifts upon me in a certain amount of time and it made me feel a little discouraged, so he hugged me without my consent. Lionfish was already jealous when Ray hugged me, and I guess Mako set him off because he went barreling into Mako, launching the two of them into a surprisingly fast-paced wrestle despite being underwater." Naida explained, still surprised at Lionfish's outburst.
"Yeah, children of the ocean can move more easily underwater than most creatures." Ray explained.
Maybe she wasn't giving the boys enough credit. They only want the best for her, why was she being so cold to them? What would a hug every now and then hurt? Well, that's just the thing, a hug every now and then didn't hurt, but if they did it too much she would start to feel violated and used. She wasn't used to men chasing after her, and now suddenly she had five. It was a little too much to just accept and move on with.
Shark scoffed. "I have to be honest, I kinda side with Lionfish. It's nice that your warming up to us now, but don't we all deserve a hug or two?" He said bashfully. Naida looked up at him. In his case, she had to look up quite away as he was probably two feet taller than her, and a foot taller than his brothers, he was no doubt the biggest.
"I'm sorry. It's nice and all that you guys have been so welcoming, but five men after me after just one day is leaving me a little shaken. At least give me time to adjust." She said defensively.
"Fair." Shark nodded.
