Naida shivered. She didn't like the sound of sirens, and she doubted she could trust one even if they had no intention of killing her. "Yeah... I think I'll stick by you." She agreed with a nervous smile and went to his side.

The brothers looked to the place where Betta and Mako had gone, they could hear faint arguing.

"We should head home soon, check up on Krait." Ray said softly from behind Naida as he fiddled absentmindedly with her hair, it was almost relaxing to her, so she didn't stop him.

"Yeah, I agree." Naida nodded and leaned into Ray, urging him to do her hair. When he did her hair, it reminded her of when she was younger and her mom would do up Naida's hair before dance practice and they would talk about what they had on their chest. Moments like that really helped Naida to form a tight bond with her mom, and her heart still urged her to repeat on those actions and bond with Ray, though she thought it might be weird.

"I'll go get Mako." Lionfish volunteered and swam off to do just that.

Shark leaned over and whispered to Ray, Ray nodded solemnly, and they both looked up, to the surface of the water.

Lionfish came back with Mako. "Betta said we could give it a shot, though she doesn't think it will work since she wasn't made for you." Mako informed them.

"Doesn't think what would work?" Naida asked.

"Why couldn't she just say that in front of us?" Ray pointed out.

"Well, I was thinking, if Betta can turn herself and her human into a human or merfolk, maybe it would work on you and you could go on land without consequences," Mako explained, beaming and ignoring Ray.

"Well, as great as it sounds, I gotta agree with her. Why would the power meant for her human work on me?" Naida sighed.

"Because you can see her in the first place! My guess is our powers don't work on just anyone because we don't exist to them, they can't interact with us. But you can interact with Betta, so what's stopping her powers from working on you? It's at least worth a shot?" He said hopefully.

"Well, okay, sure. I guess it's worth a shot." Naida smiled with a small laugh. Mako grinned and fetched Betta.

"You sure you're up for this? You have to be careful because just like any other gift, assuming this works, it will wear off without replication, so you can't just go running off from us. After it wears off, you must come back or else you might, no, will get sick." Betta warned, face to face with Naida.

"I'm ready. Let's do this." She replied, a brave smile on her face despite her hand's nervous gestures.

"That's the spirit," Betta smirked and placed a hand at the base of Naida's spine.
