Chapter 21

2 months later

Cassie's POV

"Adam!! Hurry up!" I yelled with a smile.

I heard running footsteps down the stairs, and a second later, Adam was at my side.

"Hey." He said, with a cute smirk.

I rolled my eyes. "You were almost gonna make us late for our doctor's appointment."

Adam placed his hand on my slightly protruding belly.

In case it wasn't obvious, I'm about one month pregnant.

"Okay, okay. Let's go. We need to make sure our baby is moving along okay."

Adam gripped my hand, as we walked outside to the car.

He started the car, and we were off.

After an hour or so, the appointment was over. Our baby was moving along great, and he was healthy.

I was so happy. After the whole miscarriage, I never thought I would be able to get pregnant again. I was so terrified that the same thing would happen again.

But now, I have no fear.

Adam and I were going to have a child.

Adam's POV

I think this was the happiest I've ever been in my life.

Cassie was happy, so I was happy.

Not to mention I had a child on the way.

I was also full of nervousness, I had a surprise for Cassie tonight, and it was going to change everything.

Adam's POV

I walked into the living room, and plopped down next to Cassie, and pulled her close.

She giggled, as I kissed her forehead.

"What are you doing??" She asked, raising her eyebrows playfully.

"Get dressed. Something fancy." I told her.

She smirked. "Why?!"

I smirked right back. "Just do it, young lady."

She laughed, and stood up.

"Fine. But you're not allowed in until I'm done."

Cassie's POV

I smiled to myself as I finished my last curl.

I looked at myself in the mirror, and grinned.

I was naturally glowing, and to be honest, looked more beautiful than I ever have. Pregnancy is doing wonders on me.

I slipped on my stilettos, and smoothed down my red dress. You could barely see that I was starting to show signs of being pregnant.

I grabbed my clutch, and walked out of the bathroom.

I started to walk down the stairs of the house, when I saw Adam standing at the foot of them.

He was wearing something that resembled a suit. He looked absolutely handsome. What the hell were we doing, and where were we going?!

I chuckled. "What the hell?! Are we going to the opera or something?"

Adam laughed, his dimples showing.

"No. I just want this to be special."

He grabbed my hand lightly, guiding me down the last couple of steps.
