After my time in Texas I hadn't paid attention to my surroundings and I had run until I needed to stop to hunt.
I was in Canada. I stayed there for many decades. I didn't come across many other vampires. Maybe 3 at the most over the 30 or so years I was there. I never saw Eleazar or Carmen again and certainly not Maria.
I was getting tired of this life. There was no purpose. I wanted to fill my time with something useful. I wanted to learn. Mother had taught me from home when I was still human. All I had learnt was about cooking, cleaning, sowing, music and art. I wanted to learn about science, maths, geography and even the history of the humans' that I hadn't lived to see and that I had ignored during my time as a vampire.
That was the day I decided to go to school.
