Some time has gone by. Halstead has made a full recovery and the twins will be coming home soon.
Returning home from a shopping trip, Shaylynn and Halstead get out of his truck. "I can't believe you have the bed of the truck loaded down," Halstead tells her, "What am I saying, of course, I can believe it," he says looking over at Shaylynn seeing she's messing with her phone. He walks over, "What's so interesting on that phone?" he asks her. "I bought something," she tells him. Halstead glares at her, "What did you buy now?" he questions. "A penthouse in New York," she says. "You're kidding!" Halstead says. "No. After what happened to you I wanted a place in New York where the family could stay. I want to take Jacquelyn to Broadway to see musicals and get her interested in the arts. What better place to do that than in the Big Apple," Shaylynn tells him. He leans against the truck, "How many properties do you own that I don't know about?" "Well, which ones do you know about?" she asks him. Halstead lifts an eyebrow at the question, "This one of course. Now the one in New York. The two out in California and the place you have in Utah," Halstead tells her, Shaylynn smiles at him, "I don't like that smile!" he tells her. "I have a place in Miami. A place in Maine and a place in Seattle," she tells him. "Seattle?" Halstead questions. "Yes. I did security work for the actors that were in the Fifty Shades franchise. Instead of staying in a hotel the entire time I found this place and bought it. I call it the Fifty Shades of Grey resort," Shaylynn tells him smiling. Halstead pulls her close, "Of course you would call it that! Does it have a red room?" he asks with a shitty grin on his face. "It might!" Shaylynn tells him as she walks to the front door to open it leaving Halstead with a huge smile on his face. Taking a few boxes out of the bed of the truck, Halstead starts walking to the front door, "We might have to take a trip to Seattle so I can check that place out!" he says winking at her as he walks past. Shaylynn smiles and starts laughing. She takes a few bags out of the back, walks inside and up the stairs to the nursery. Walking in she sees Halstead looking around, "It's been a long road but we've made it to the end and the boy's get to come home in a week," he says. "We get the nursery done and get to the weekend, do you want to take a trip out to Seattle to see the place?" Shaylynn asks him as she wraps her arms around his neck. He smiles at her, "Yes, a late babymoon," he says. "Shouldn't we get two babymoons since we had two?" Shaylynn asks him. Halstead starts laughing then kisses her.

A few days later the Intelligence Unit is staking out a very well known Mexican drug dealer who's trying to set up shop in Chicago. All of the Intelligence Unit is in their cars other than Halstead and Shaylynn who are in the surveillance van. "I called my property manager and everything's set for this weekend," she tells Halstead about the Seattle property as they both watch the screens and see a man walking toward the van with an AK-47. He opens fire on the van sending Halstead and Shaylynn falling to the floor. Halstead hurries and grabs a hold of Shaylynn pulling her close to him as he grabs a bulletproof vest putting it along her back.
