Part 17

Arianna's POV; Chapter 16- I want to make you smile.

The day goes by with glances from Jake all day. I turn my homework and classwork in along with  the extra work I did and place my binders and textbooks back in my locker. We have a 2 hour long practice before we are sent home to get ready for the game. Mom and Dad said we would go out for dinner after the game so we don't eat before leaving for the game.

I go into the locker room along with Cleo and we change to get ready for the game. The boys go into their locker room to change and we all meet out there for the game.

It began raining towards the end of the game which I didn't expect. After the game ends I'm walking away when Jake calls my name and stops me before the game ends. We're running for cover when I slip in the mud and he wraps an arm around my waist and does the last thing I expected. He kisses me. His lips press against mine softly at first asking for permission then they press more passionately. When we stand back up we're both smiling looking at each other and Silas, Candice, Cleo, Trey, Colton, mom, and dad are standing behind us smiling also.

"I'm sorry I waited so long." Jake says to me brushing a piece of hair away from my face.

"Better late than never." I say and he smiles.

We turn around to face everyone and I look at Silas first.

"I knew he was the one you wanted. Besides I got this one." He says as he kisses Candice on the cheek. 

And this is almost the best night of my life. Almost. 

The best night of my life was the night I moved into dad's house.
