Chapter 3: Percy

After the meeting, I went back to my room. I collapsed onto my sea green bed sheets and sighed. I went over the day. Words piercing my heart like a knife.

Seaweed Brain. I do not have a brain full of seaweed.

Gasp! Here we go...

Seaweed Brain has thoughts?! Yeah. Thoughts that have saved you life many times.

Laughing. So much laughing...

A voice in the back of my head reminds me, they never hear my idea...

Flashback...

"Percy! Perseus Jackson!" Mrs. Dodds screeched, "Answer the question written on the board."

I squinted at the board. I couldn't make out a single word. "I- I can't, Miss."

I looked down at my hands in defeat. I sighed when I saw the crescent shaped scars on my palms.

"And why is that, Jackson."

"Well, Miss, I have..."

"It's because your STUPID." Mrs. Dodds smiled at my surprised face, "You're an IDOIT OF A CHILD AND A DISGRACE WHO CAN'T EVEN READ."

I held back my tears as I tore my backback off of the back of my seat and ran. Ran from the classroom. Ran from Mrs. Dodds. Ran from the pain.

...Flashback End

My sobs tore through the silent room.
