Onika's POV
July 30th 1720(11:47am)
Madam's house

"Madam!" I called out as she walked to the house looking almost frustrated with the world, I haven't spoken to her in some days which was odd since she'd normally come around and try to at least speak a greeting or grimace at my actions when she's able to. But this was a bit different she's been out past day light and well barely around the village, I've been passing my time with Ghani since I haven't had any real to to see him and because he makes me feel appreciated more than anyone else has here. "Madam" I spoke again following her inside the back door only to walk into the silence that filled the house and the sound of her hardened footsteps on the wooden flooring.

Still no response only her going upstairs, I followed behind completely seeing her hair move as her hips swayed unintentionally with her concentrated walk until I had enough "Madam!" I yelled grabbing onto her arm. She stopped in her steps and turned around to me with bored and yet aggressive eyes that seemed as if they could penetrate anyone's soul, I swallowed what confidence I had and hesitantly let go of her arm. "What child?" She almost snarled barely even opening her mouth to speak to me I tried to speak but my words were caught in my throat and I could only release stuttering sounds that she had no interest in the slightest manner. "Are you okay?" I asked being the only thing I could muster up looking her in the eye seeing so much and yet so little, "I am fine child now what is the meaning of this?" She asked moving a bit closer to me with her head tilted and eyes squinting.

"Nothing Madam" I replied quietly seeing as though she wasn't open to talking and I was far from getting anywhere, "So why waste my time?" She almost snapped throwing a hand up while I lowered my eyes to the flooring. "I had no intentions on doing so, I wanted to speak with since you've acted as if I don't exist anymore!" I almost yelled in frustration with the matter, "I want your time and attention but it seems as if I can't get that!" I added looking between her eyes trying to see if she would understand where I was coming from but she face just softened into one of slight boredom. "I can't give you that... not right now, there are things that I need to handle and people I work to help." She spoke in a softer tone from what she's spoken to me in before almost seeming sorry but more as if she was forcing herself to say it. I lowered my head and gave off a small nod "O-Okay" I softly spoke as I felt her eyes on me "Thank you" she said in the same tone before walking past me going back out the house I assume.

I lifted my head looking down the hall at the closed dark brown wooden doors that concordant with the light creme walls, I took in a quick breath to ease myself before turning around and steadily making my way down the stairs. "You thought she'd care about you huh?" I heard someone say as I took my last step down. I turned to the left of me seeing her husband standing in the kitchen he already was looking at me as a drink was kept in his hand that I would assume wasn't nonalcoholic, his eyes stayed on me as he lifted the bottle to his large lips. "What are you even speaking of" I voiced looking at him as if what he spoke was ludicrous "That woman will never love you, not in the way you desire." he spoke as his hand pulled the drunk away.

"She can't love anyone that way, not even her own husband.." he added leading my face to scrunch and my feet take a few steps forward, "Are you not the one who has raped her and disrespected her for so long?!" I rhetorically asked as if his actions did not help my case. "You really think I'd do that to her? She never catered to me! That woman wouldn't even please me not to this day and yet gets mad when I find someone else to whom can fulfill that gap?!" He spoke raising his voice almost entirely. "There's a difference between finding someone willing and rape you bastard!" I yelled point my finger to him as my face shown my anger and frustration. "But is it not your job to please me as I want?" He voiced as a smile grew to his lips.

"She won't love you, she won't love anyone not from how she acts and not from how she treats people." He said taking another sip intruding the silence that was so thick in the walls "You believe whatever that woman tells you but in the end you'll wish you hadn't of fallen for that woman like you did, she'll ruin you like anyone else and you'll just be left in the wind when it comes down to it.." he finished with the same smile as he let out a laugh "She has no real interest in you or anyone, don't let it fool you girl..You think you can change her" he left out a scoff "She's been like that since she was a slave" he stood his leaning body up from the counter before sipping his drink and making his way to the door while I just stood there taking in his words as if I should believe them or not.
