"Miss Theresa the great!!  Please go in first. You know you love to do things your way" Thelma said jokingly as she bit her lower lip. You could tell from her expression that she was nervous.

Her eyes gazed at the huge building before her. They were at the front of the R&L building and construction company. It was time to fulfil their father's promise.

For years, their father had always told them that they had a company of their own which was stolen from them by the Rogers. The twin both studied business administration to come back for an act of sweet revenge.

Now it was their turn to do their part. They were to go into the company and look for a way to take ownership of it. They had gone for the interview. Thelma was employed as a personal assistant to the CEO and Theresa got the job of the sales manager.

"Theresa, go in" Thelma urged.

"Oh please!" Theresa stretched and adjusted her dress.  "Don't expect me to walk into that place with you by my side" she added and flipped her hair.

"What's wrong?" Thelma asked. Slowly, Theresa eyed her from head to toe.

"You are a description of a fashion disaster" Theresa snapped.

Thelma wore a red blouse with an ash skirt. Under it, she wore a black and white worn-out shoe.

"Please, why are you wearing that hideous shoe? You have worn it for years. Let it rest. It has done its best".

"Hmm... But it is my lucky shoe!" Thelma pouted and glanced at the shoe.

"What's so lucky of that trash? You are a disgrace to all pretty twins in this world. Aargh! Disgusting!" Theresa sassed and pushed the glass entrance door open.

They were welcomed by the piercing gaze of the employees. Do you remember that silent stare you get when you walk into a new building or school? This was how the moment was.

Everyone had left what they were doing to steal a glimpse of the identical twin walking in. Thelma and Theresa had a willowy figure. Thelma had pulled her brown hair into a ponytail while Theresa let her hair down on her shoulder.

Theresa strutted in with an air of confidence. She knew who she was and what she wanted. She was looking so stunning in a casual red gown that hugged her slender body. The dress she wore cost an arm and a leg. It was expensive and that was not the only cloth she spent money on. They were more.

Thelma timidly strode to keep up with her pace. Everyone gave a disgusted look as soon as they saw her shoe. They got to the elevator successfully and went in.

Thelma scratched the bridge of her nose and whispered, "I kind of feel ashamed of the shoe now".

"I knew it. Anyway, I got a backup plan" Theresa opened her bag and pulled out a nice red shoe. "This should suit you fine" she slammed it on Thelma's tummy.

"Ouch! Thanks. Oww!" She patted her tummy and smiled at Theresa who ignored all she said. The elevator opened and they went in different directions.

***************************

Thelma went into the CEO office. She gasped at the wide room. It looked office-like and also had an advanced interior design. There was a huge U-shaped desk with files stacked on it at a far end. On a leather chair, a young man sat focused on his laptop, his fingers slamming on the poor keyboard. She couldn't see the exact facial features but from the side of the jaw she sighted, he seemed good-looking. She glanced to her right and saw a couch and four chairs comfortably arranged like a living room.

Thelma moved close to the two square leather chairs set in front of his desk. "Good morning, sir"

No response! It felt like the cool air had mocked the total silence that stood as a pillar between them. She repeated, "Good morning, sir".

He suddenly rose his head and Thelma gulped.

Alexander Roger. Xander! He works here? Oh no! This is wrong.

His eyes narrowed and he sent a deadly glare. Her breath hitched. It was as if she was choking to death.

"What says your time? "His deep voice thundered.

"Hmm... Well... "

She wasn't wearing a wristwatch. Quickly, she began to search for her phone in her bag.

"Just hold it there! No watch? What did you think you were coming here to do? To play?" he rose to his feet and took little steps towards Thelma.

"First, you came late and now, you don't have a watch to manage time. I just missed the appropriate time for my coffee. You know why?" he cleared his throat and roared "BECAUSE Of  YOU! Get lost this instant and get my coffee".

"Hmm....sorry, sir! Err....what type of coffee?"

"Cafè Latte! The coffee shop on the other street knows how it should be made! Just tell them that I'm the one ordering! Now leave!" He commanded.

"Okay, sir! I'll get it now"

He murmured and went to his seat, not even looking at Thelma for a second. Stroked by fear, Thelma ran to get the coffee. Her legs were wiggly as a jelly. She had never met a person like him. Everyone she knew loved her and never scolded her this harshly. What has she gotten herself into?

*************************
Theresa walked towards the reception and hit the bell.

"Hello! Who is meant to be here," she hissed. A lady showed up.

"Sorry ma, how may I help you?"

"I want you to send someone to my office immediately"

"What is the problem?"

"What is the problem! My office is like an abandoned house. It's so dirty"

"But ma, the cleaners just cleaned it this morning"

"Oh! So they cleaned it even worst than a five years old boy would. Were they drunk while cleaning?" she yelled. Her hands were on her hips as she continued, "Because that will explain everything. I am not going to say it twice. Make sure they clean there before I get back or else".  Sinister laughter slipped from her lip and she sashayed away, leaving the surprised receptionist to wonder what the 'else' was.

Theresa walked into the hall, searching for the words 'CEO office room'.  She found it and push the door open. She spots a man staring at the screen of his laptop, unaware of the person that walked in.

"Good morning, sir"

No response from him? Okay! She would just greet again. Theresa thought to herself that the CEO was so lucky to have her call him 'Sir'.

"Good morning, sir! "

Theresa ffrownedwhen he didn't respond. She rushed to his desk and slammed the laptop down in front of his face.

The CEO stood up and gave one of his best expressions.  This left Theresa in complete shock.

What has she done?
