meeting the parents was never easy for anyone. but today, noel and faelecia we're going to tackle that obstacle. noel was officially going to meet her parents as her boyfriend. weirdly, faelecia was more concerned than noel.

"baby," he soothed, tying his tie, "there's no need to worry. i'm sure i'll make a great impression on your parents, as your boyfriend of course."

he fiddled with his tie, turning around to see as faelecia was hurrying to slide her dress on.

"yeah, but what about the fact that they don't speak english that well?" she bickered. noel tossed his blazer on and walked over to the distressed woman.

"as long as we can make small talk, it's okay. you can be the translator, and i have learned a little bit of french." he rubbed her back, trying to make her feel better. and as much as she hated to admit it, she did enjoy it.

"i think im ready, how do i look?" faelecia asked, checking herself in the mirror. she saw noels reflection behind her, and with him in his little fancy getup, they looked like a power couple.

"you look like the best thing that has ever happened to me." he whispered, leaning in and nibbling on her earlobe. she giggled and started to rub on his thigh, making him grow eager. but they both mutually stopped their antics, knowing they had some place to go.

"i could say the same about you, you handsome son of a bitch." she smoothed her hands over his button up shirt, grabbing his hand and leading him out of the door.

"my parents like you, we shouldn't have a problem." she said, mostly to reassure herself. noel started the car and pat her thigh, hoping it would calm her down.

"nothing can go wrong, i've met your parents before, now this is just in a different setting." he said, but she sighed and looked out the window.

"you don't get it, noel. they're very old fashioned. and they want me to marry someone who's a doctor or a scientist or like a job they'd understand, you know?" he nodded and turned his turning signal on, driving on to the busy streets of los angeles.

"you remember where i lived?" she asked, giggling as he was following his memory.

"of course! how could i forget?" chuckling, noel placed his hand on the stick shift of his car. faelecia was quick to place her hand on his.

"i'm actually quite excited." noel said, contrasting faelecia's worries. "i mean, other than me not speaking too much french, i think we're good."

she shrugged, not too sure. something in her mind just knew something bad was gonna happen.

"noel..." he turned to look at her quickly, focusing his eyes on the road. "say if something bad does happen, will you still love me?"

noel playfully rolled his eyes and squeezed her hand. "of course not, you're over exaggerating."

"i'm sorry, you know how i get." she laughed at herself and ran a hand through her hair.

"yep, i know exactly what you're going through. i just don't show it." noel pulled into the familiar driveway. they both got out of the car, and faelecia was thinking of excuses now.

"wait! did we take ollie outside before we left? we don't want him shitting in the apartment." noel rubbed her arm, chuckling.

"i took ollie out before i got dressed. there's no need to think of excuses, we're here." it's like he knew what she was thinking. they both walked up to the door, hand in hand, faelecia knocked quietly, causing noel to knock louder. faelecia heard the footsteps of both her parents gathering towards the door. the doorknob turned, giving her a slight hint of turmoil. her parents, standing side by side, opened the door, smiling at the sight of her daughter.
