"Baker Bree, Baker Bree, please wake up and play with me," I tried to hold back a smile as I heard Jaden singing to me. He lightly nudged me with his hand before continuing on with his song. "You my best friend, Baker Bree, wake up please and spend the day with me!"
"Ya know, I could lay here forever and listen to you make up songs," I giggled, slowly allowing my eyes to flutter open. Jaden was sitting with his legs crossed on the side of the bed that used to occupy Payton. He had on black skinny joggers with a white hoodie, his messy hair poking out from underneath the hood.
"I'll make up an even better one if you get up and come to Disney with me," he pleaded, jutting his bottom lip out into a pout. I swear Jaden was a puppy in his last life. I sat up, keep the blankets wrapped around me, and stretched my arms up into the air. "Best friend day, please!"
"Best friend day," I agreed with a nod of my head. Before I could register what he was doing Jaden threw himself across the bed at me, his body landing on top of mine. I laughed as I wrapped my arms around my best friend and held him close.
If I was being honest with myself I loved having days that were just Jaden and I. He was the first person I met in 'real life' that had connections to this crazy world of social media, the only thing that was different about Jaden than a lot of other people was that he didn't let the money or the 'fame' get to his head. Sure, he knew he was good looking, hell even I wasn't afraid to admit that, and he wasn't afraid to use his looks for views, but at the end of the day Jaden was just a boy with the purest heart and the most amazing personality to match.
"I thought Payton wanted to go to Disney," I thought out loud as I slowly rolled myself out of the bed. I walked over to the dresser that had a mirror resting above it and carefully wiped the sleep out of my eyes. It felt so good to get a full nights worth of sleep.
"Yeah, he left already. He went out with I'm not even sure who all, he tried to wake you up but you wouldn't budge. Actually he and Chase both tried but eventually they gave up and left," Jaden told me. My heart sunk a little at the thought of Payton just leaving me here to go out with friends, especially after we had talked about all the things we wanted to do while we were in LA, but at the same time I wasn't the kind of girlfriend who needed the attention of her boyfriend twenty-four-seven.
"Okay, well let me get ready and I'll come down," I told Jaden. I waited until he left the bedroom before stripping the clothes off that I had slept in and replacing them with new clothes for the day; a black tank top and a pair of ripped up jean shorts with my white converse.
After braiding my hair back into two French braids I bounced down the marble staircase to find Jaden standing in the kitchen placing a bowl up onto the counter.
"Here, I made you a fruit bowl to eat so we can leave and go right to Disneyland. The Uber should be here in the next twenty minutes," he smiled, handing me a fork to eat the huge bowl of fruit he had cut up for me. Before I could even ask a glass of water was being placed down beside the bowl and I looked up at Jaden to give him a thumbs up while I chewed the fruit.
"You're awesome," I laughed after swallowing. "So is it really best friend day or is like Anthony and Griff coming too?" I asked. Jaden looked up from where he was washing the few dishes that had been left in the sink and wiped his hand on the towel beside the sink.
"It's just best friend day. They did say they might come there later, but we don't have to hang out with them if you don't want to. I miss my little Baker girl and want a day just for us," Jaden told me and a smile spread across my face.
"You're the best," I complimented him for the second time in what felt like thirty seconds. "You know I love Anth and Griff, but I love my Jaden boy even more," I flashed him a smile as I hopped off the bar stool I had been sitting on and walked my dirty dishes to the sink. "I'll clean these after we get back. Let's go wait for the Uber!" I excitedly said to him as I grabbed onto his hand and began dragging him to the front door.
Once we were outside and Jaden had closed and locked the door, we sat down onto the front step to wait for our ride. I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and frowned when I realized I had no messages yet from Payton. He must have thought I was still sleeping.
