I love you

Now that's a statement.

Never in my whole life did I consider saying these three words to another person. Because I love you means so much more than 'I like you' or 'I have a crush on you'.

Love

That's a huge word. Love means trust, warmth, caring and - vulnerability.

I - so I thought - was way to young to experience something like love.

But Tae? Well, Tae is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. I guess he never thought about a feeling being to huge for him and certainly not hiding this very feeling.

If I now think about it, then I think that this is a beautiful thing.

Back then it just gave me a similar feeling as when Tae had confessed to me with a paper flower bouquet.

"I- uhm... I think I r-really like you Y/N."

Just because of another reason.

Back then it had been because it wasn't real. Now it was because I didn't feel real.

I mean, this whole situation.

Tae having cuts and bruises all over his pretty face, wrapping his arms around me like his life depended on it, saying that he loved me.

But really, I didn't even dare to question it.

His voice had sounded so weak and shaky, yet so determined and relieved. And I couldn't help but to bury my face in his chest at these words, letting all my confusing feelings roll over me, happy that Taehyung was holding me.

I was a bit helpless at the moment. What do you say when someone tells you they love you? Especially when you aren't even sure if you love them/don't love them yourself.

All I knew was that I couldn't answer with 'I love you too'.

Because I yet had to find out what this thing called love is.

So I just kept quiet and let Tae suffocate me happily.

Wow okay, now that we have the deep shit behind us I can tell you what we did after our little cuddle session.

Taehyung obviously couldn't go to school like this and he refused to go to the school nurse for some reason, so I proposed to just skip classes and go to my place.

Dad would surely understand, especially when his favorite boy on this planet looked as if he just walked through a crowd of hysteric fangirls.

Tae let my non-reaction at his confession un commented and listened silently to me explaining the whole, fucked up story about Chris and these weird anti-lgbtq gangs.

He didn't say anything during our walk home, my usually very talkative friend being awfully quiet. But I guess having experienced what he did doesn't bring many words with it, so I hoped being kind of a distraction with talking way more than I needed to.

I was kinda relieved when we reached our house and I helped Taehyung upstairs, before sitting him down onto the couch and going to the bathroom to get the medicals and bandages to treat his wounds.

"Here you go", I said, about to kneel down to bandage his bruised knee but he quickly grabbed my wrist.

"N-No, it's okay. I'm okay."

His expression was frantic almost panicked and I got up, not questioning his weird behavior, "Okay, but let me wash them out at least."

Tae complied and I quickly got a clean, wet towel to gently dab his bruises and cuts.

He watched me silently and I was feeling really awkward, never having done this to another person before and hoping that I wasn't hurting him even more.

But I guess, him not complaining showed that I was doing an acceptable job.

"Okay, uhm- I'll get you some water, wait here."

Tae grinned, "Where do you think I'll go with this." He pointed at his bruised knee and stomach.

My lips twitched at Tae still having humor in a situation like this and hurried to get some water from the kitchen.

I was lost in my thoughts about everything and nothing, rummaging through our cupboard in hope to find some cookies.

Sadly I couldn't find any and left the kitchen with two glasses of water.

I stopped in the doorframe that lead into our living room and watched Taehyung skipping through an old photo album of dad and me.

A small smile tugged on his chapped lips and I couldn't help but to think how unfair it was that he still looked beautiful after being beaten up like that.

I made a few steps in his direction and placed one glass in front of him. Our eyes met, a warm smile spreading over Taehyung's face.

"You were an ugly baby."

I hissed and slapped the back of his head, "You love this ugly baby so shut the fuck up."

He laughed childishly and pulled me down next to him before taking a greedy sip of his water.

I watched him drinking silently and a sudden thought popped up in my head, "I guess you're not going to sleep at your place?"

He scoffed, "If Catherine sees me like that she's going to beat me up as well."

I hummed and got up, "I guess I'll prepare a bed for you to sleep in."

I was about to turn around when I felt a grip on my wrist and a pull, making me stumble backwards into Taehyung's lap, facing the pouting boy, "Can't we just sleep in the same bed?"

I scowled, "N-"

There's no fucking way any human being could ever deny Kim Taehyung's pleading puppy eyes.

I sighed defeated, "Okay."

And with that he finally let me go, cheering happily.

"Oh heavens, what happened to your face Taehyung?"

I turned around with a shriek, not having expected dad to enter all of a sudden.

Addressed boy looked at me unsure of how to answer and I waved it off, "It's okay dad, don't mind this, he's just going to sleep here to night."

My super caring father just shrugged and left the living room, not questioning his daughter's strange behavior.

"Woah, I wish my dad was as chill as yours." Tae stated. Then he blinked and added, "I with I had a dad in the first place."

But his expression didn't loose its cheerfulness and he hopped off the couch with a grin, "Let's go upstairs, shall we?"
