I haven't seen Jack the rest of the week. He hasn't gone to class and he always hangs up when I call him. Lily is the only person who has actually seen him and every time she comes back from his dorm I always ask her how he is and if he said anything about me. And every time her answer is no and just give him time. I just don't like how he's ignoring me, I miss him. But to be honest, if someone did that to me I'd probably ignore them too. I just got out of my last class for the week and I decided to go to the café to get my normal coffee. It's about 2:15 when I finally arrive there and I make sure to grab my wallet and phone when I get out of the car. I start to walk towards the café and I get a text. I look at my phone to see it's my dad and I remember that I haven't called him in a while. I remind myself to call him when I get back to my dorm. I walk in the café and it's mildly busy when I get inside. I go to the counter and order my drink. They say they'll call my name when it's ready. I wait at the other counter and look around, but then I spot Jack sitting at our regular table with his glasses on reading a book,

"Y/n.", I hear the girl behind the counter say my name and I turn around,

"Thanks.", I say and smile at her. I take my drink and grab a straw. I turn back around to see Jack still reading the book. I walk over to him until I reach the table,

"Hey.", I say and he looks up from the book. When he sees me he immediately takes off his glasses and starts to pack his stuff up,

"Wait, Jack, please. Just give me 5 minutes.", I plead. He looks at me for a moment then sighs and nods his head towards the chair across from him.

I give him a small smile and pull the chair out and sit down,

"I uh I just wanted to explain myself because what I did to you was wrong. I shouldn't have lied to you and I know keeping it from you made it even worse and I'm sorry for that. I and Tom aren't dating. I actually don't know what we are. I've stayed at his house a couple of times, but for serious reasons not just because he wanted to get into my pants, but because at the time I've stayed over it was because we both needed someone there to comfort us. I know you think that I shouldn't hang around Tom because I'm just gonna get hurt and trust me I know I've gotten hurt by him already, but that's my decision and my fault. The reason I didn't tell you was that I was scared. I was scared that you would think differently of me. You probably already do and I understand. I just didn't want to lose you and because I hid it from you I think I already did. I understand if you don't forgive me, but I just wanted to explain everything.", I say. I look at him and he has no expression on his face. I wait for a second and when he doesn't respond I nod my head with a frown on my face and start to get up from the table,

"You didn't lose me.", he says and I look at him,

"Sure I'm mad that you lied to me, but I understand. You were scared. I should've never told you to stay away from him because I can't control you. I was just looking out for you. Y/n you're my best friend and I don't want to see you get hurt, but I also can't stop you from doing something. So I'm sorry also.", he says,

"You have nothing to apologize for.", I tell him,

"No, I do. We are both in the fault here.", he says and I nod my head,

"So are we best friends again.", I ask,

"Yeah, sure I guess. I'm kinda stuck with you.", he jokes and I kick his leg under the table and laugh,

"Thank you for listening.", I say and he nods his head and smiles,

"Just be careful around him.", he says,

"He's different around me though.",

"But he's Tom. You never know what to expect with him. Just promise me that you'll be careful.",
