"I'm tired." Jinyoung complained as he trudged down the sidewalk behind Jaebum.

"Welcome to the everyday grind. I gotta open up today." Jaebum shoved his hands in his lightweight jacket, focused on getting to work instead of worrying himself over Jinyoung's whining.

Jinyoung clicked his teeth, obviously not favoring being ignored. "I wanna go back to your place."

Jaebum just continued walking, letting out an annoyed sigh. "Well we're almost there, so there's no point."

"Why are you making me do this?"

Jinyoung's voice was like a constant pain in Jaebum's ear. He wished it had an off switch. "I would've left you home if I knew you'd be this annoying. Are all angels lazy and whiny?"

"Shut up."

"We're here."

Jaebum stopped in front of the cafe, pulling out a set of keys he had stuffed in his pocket. He pulled up the metal bars that covered the storefront, unlocking the doors and proceeding inside. Jinyoung followed him, obviously happy to get out of the late fall chill (though he'd borrowed one of Jaebum's heavier jackets along with the entirety of his outfit also belonging to Jaebum, so he shouldn't be complaining) and into the warmer interior of the cafe. The front was full of chairs and tables that also ran down the sides, leaving the middle and back of the store used for the workers.

Jaebum bee-lined towards staff room to turn on the lights and get into uniform while Jinyoung stood there against a wall with the least thrilled expression. Across from Jinyoung hung uniform aprons that Jaebum threw on, and in the middle of the room was a large round table and chairs around which the staff took their lunch breaks. Another door farther back lead to the electrical room where Jaebum had turned on the lighting, and a door opposite that one lead to the front where the register was. Jinyoung was watching Jaebum with such contempt, and all the other could do was ignore him as he's always done to avoid an altercation between them, though at some point or another Jaebum knew that Jinyoung would get on his nerves despite his efforts to avoid it.

Ten minutes of rushing around to set up the cafe passed when the front door jingled, signaling someone's arrival. Jaebum was in the storage room retrieving some cups when he heard footsteps approaching from behind.

"Holy shit, Jaebum? Is that you?" Mark asked.

Jaebum didn't even need to turn around to see the shock on Mark's face. But he did anyway, since he needed to set up the cups behind the register. "In the flesh."

"This is crazy... you're early today?" Mark asked while shedding his outer layer and following Jaebum through the staff room.

Jaebum rolled his eyes, heading off towards the front of the store. "Mark stop it, I can be early sometimes."

Mark let out a chuckle, spinning around to grab a uniform apron only to see Jinyoung standing against the wall, the smile on his lips immediately fading as their gazes met. "Oh. Hello."

"Hi."Jinyoung mumbled coldly before staring down at the floor.

Jaebum walked back into the room long enough to watch the stale interaction. He cringed from the awkwardness and Jinyoung's unnecessary attitude. "Um, just ignore him Mark, he's tagging along with me for the day."

Mark glanced back at Jaebum, giving a curt nod of his head before walking over to the aprons that hung on the wall. "Okay..."

"Are you a friend of Jaebum's?" Jinyoung asked, making the awkwardness last longer than it really needed to.

Mark turned around, quickly tying the apron around him most likely in an effort to get out of there as quickly as possible. "Um, coworker friend I guess?"
