Chapter 24. 1 : Betting

Napatigil naman silang lahat, at tumingin isa-isa sa akin.Kita ko ang pagbabago ng ekspresyon ni CC. At ano na namang kinabibigla ng iba? "You are so full of surprises Thia!"

"Sabi ko na nga ba! Oh Lizzy, gimme 1K." Inilahad ni Zen ang kamay niya sa muhka ni Liz. "Come on, come pay up. I won!" Nagbago ang mood ko nang marinig ko ang walang hiya kong kaibigang si Zen.

Binigyan ko ng matalim na tingin si Zen, hindi naman niya ako pinansin dahil tuwang-tuwa siyang nakatingin kay Liz na kumukuha ng pera galing sa pitaka niya. Walang imik ang iba kong kaibigan, marahil akala nila ay si Stephanie ang tinutukoy. Sanay naman rin silang palaging nagpupustahan ang dalawa kaya, wala lang ito para sa kanila.

"Shutang inerns Zen!" Sabi ni Liz habang binibigay ang isang libo niya kay Zen.

"What are you doing?" I said in a matter of disbelieving. Napatigil naman si Zen sa pagpapaypay ng isang libo sa muhka niya at tumingin sa akin. Ngumingiting tumingin sa akin. "Nabuntis ka ni Enzo Ramos." Habang sinasabi niya iyong biglang naginit ang paligid, kahit malakas ang air condition ng cafe.

"Napagpustahan ka namin ni Liz."

"Grabe naman kayo, ano bang tingin niyo kay Thia?!" Sigaw ni Cecile at pinagbabato niya ito ng mga crumpled tissue. Halos hindi rin ako makakibo sa nalaman. "Ganoon ba siya kadaling makuha?!" Dagdag pa nito. I was completely taken aback by CC's notion. The word 'madali' really bugs me.

Ganoon ba ako kadaling makuha? Not that,me and Cyl are into sexual activity. Me and Cyl know each other for almost nine months, more or less. I'm happy and comfortable with him and him with me (I guess). Due to this closeness, people around us mistakenly label our relationship. Due to this closeness, he kind of move in with me and it's not really a problem. But, what if people around will know this? And my family doesn't approve this kind of things. Now, that is the big problem here. Why didn't I see this coming? "I am not pregnant." I said sternly.

Also, I am now fully aware of the growing sexual tension recently. It creeps the hell out of me! I've been doubting myself whenever he's around. Ba ka bumigay ako! This growing emotions, seriously took my sanity.

Naglabas ng isang karton si Chino slash China or whatever (The gay emcee. See Chaps 13-14) the label of the box shocked me. It was a famous brand of latex condoms. I can't help but roll my eyes while laughing at it. S/he sure knows how to find humour in a tensed up situation we're currently in. Come to think of it, I don't remember calling him. Oh well.

"Oh Thia, proteksyon para sa aksyon." S/he said as s/he pushes the box. Makes me wonder, how the hell s/he have this thing? Go figure.

"Gaga! Birhen 'to. Wag kang tumingin Thia." Stephanie jokingly covers her hands at my eyes. I caught her and put it down. Now, I am seriously pissed at my situation. When did I become the laughing stock? Definitely, not a good idea to call them to hear their advice.

"Makinig ka Thia, para kang may suot na rubber na may shield na may hard bound wall around you. Mahirap magiba, but you didn't realize as the time goes by it is slowly breaking and crashing down. Like the situation you're in with Enzo, naka-invade na si Enzo ng hindi mo namamalayan." Makahulugang sabi ni Chino. I really don't know where we're going at. Clueless, I hate being clueless. Was that even a metaphor?

Silence, all their eyes and attention focused on me now. Hot seat? Maybe. "So, what's the connection of my virginity to what've you said just now?" All hell loose, they are laughing their ass off because of what I said. Wala silang paki kahit pinukulan na sila ng masasamang tingin ng ibang customer. "Listen.." Agad naman silang tumigil. Good!

"..You're saying that, I'm protecting myself from the invader, and without me knowing or realizing it, it was somewhat crashed down?" I said quite unsure.
