Last night was not what I expected it to be for my first. After the strange guy came around, I fell asleep while waiting for a phone call from Nolan that never came.

The girls had a party the whole night, explaining why those guys were near my room. Usually, waking up on a Sunday for me consisted of, Breakfast and then church. This time I knew to skip breakfast and go straight to the school for a housing Miracle. Meanwhile, Claudia texted me the scripture of the day,

Claudia: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

I thanked her as always and moved on with my morning, it's different not being around her on a day like this.

I put on a white shirt and jeans. My hair is wrapped up in a bun to get it out of my face. I made sure to walk out of the apartment before either of the girls or whatever guest they had woken up. With my room being right next to Trixi, I heard things in there I'm not sure I've ever heard in real life besides in movies.

I walk through the glass doors of the housing building. I should've woken up earlier since the line already stretched out all the way toward a different part of the building. Eyes follow me as I walk to the back of the line. I am sure there won't be anything available after the fifth person, but it doesn't hurt to try.

My legs gave out on me once it hit twelve in the afternoon. There were only ten people ahead of me and about twenty more behind me.

Getting close, I started to prepare what to say in my mind. It can't be that hard to ask for a dorm room. I don't even mind sharing the space. I want out of that apartment.

Just as it was my turn, the lady in the cubicle shut her blinds and placed a sign stating they were closed. My jaw drops, and all the patience I had ran out. The hundreds of students behind me complain and groan while walking away.

Just my luck.

I walked out of the housing building that led to a crosswalk to get into the main building. Near the food court, there's a library upstairs, and the bottom is the study zones for the kids that are on campus.

A small group of people hung around a table. A girl with short hair and the other half of her head was shaved. She sits on top of the booth instead of the actual seat, I didn't notice it before, but Delilah sat right next to her. A guy and two others were around the table. I am sure I spotted Trixi as well.

The same guys from last night. I thought to myself.

Not wanting to communicate with them and looking Trixi in the eye after hearing her last night, I walked the other way.

I knew I didn't walk off fast enough when I heard Delilah shout, "Roomie!" I planned to ignore it until she called my name. "Erm, Amelia!"

I groaned silently and turned. The tall curly-headed boy that rudely made my room smell like weed looked up, eyeing me, then back to his phone.
