Along Came Timi

It was five am when I  woke up the next morning. The only thing on my mind was that I had to stay away from Timi. But all that thought crashed as soon as I came out of my house.

He was there, right outside my gate. Waiting for me, I rolled my eyes and walked off but then he ran up to meet me and I felt his fingers brush my knuckle before he got a firm grip of me and pulled me towards me.
  
" I've been waiting for you now. You saw me and walked off," he said, he looked angry which made me happy a little.

I sighed "Guy leave me alone."

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked with his brows furrowed.

"I don't know just  leave me alone." I quickly flagged a bike, climbed on it and left him standing there like a fool. He deserved it for leaving me yesterday. I was a bigger fool though because I used my feeding money to pay for the bike I entered just because of a guy.

Anyways I got to school seven am on the dot. Record breaker.  Assembly had not even started by then which made me smile. Becca was present.

"First time ever," she said to me with a true smile.

I gave a small laugh"I know right."

We talked random things until we heard the bell. We stood up arranging our uniforms when Sylvia walked into the class .

"Assembly, Now" she eyed us.

"Did we say we're not going?" Becca asked but didn't wait for a reply as we walked off..

The morning assembly was unexpectedly nice well apart from the long sermon  from our school pastor and long speech from our principal, everything went well.

After assembly we had English for two period which I kind of enjoyed. Then Math. Mr John walked into the class with our notes in his hands. We submitted the last classwork he gave us on matrices. He dropped them on the teacher's desk at the corner of the class.

He stood akimbo and shook his head ."More than ten students here scored zero. You are art students doesn't mean you shouldn't care about math."

He began distributing the books."Now I won't call out your names because the shame and self disgust you have when you open your note is enough."

Okay I was one of the ten with zero. Becca got two, She laughed at me. I gave her a fake smile and hid my inner sadness. I couldn't continue this way, I really needed help.

Mr john continued, "If you get below ten over twenty in your up coming test your names will be called during the morning assembly and you will be publicly disgraced." He sighed and continued .

"I'm doing this for you not me. You might hate me now but soon you will thank me." He turned to face the marker board and then scribbled the new topic on it.

Why do teachers keep saying that shit.

Anyways I really needed help so I decided to ask Mr john for  help after school.

 During long break I just sat on my sit thinking about Timi.

"Anna!" Angel screamed.

"Why are you shouting?" I asked with a frown.

"I've been calling your name for a minute now."

I sighed " sorry I was just thinking."

She laughed" Man, Anna when you zone out, you really zone out. Besides what were you thinking about?"

"Nothing important,"I lied.

She shrugged," lets go buy something to eat I'm really hungry."

"Go ahead I don't have any money on me."

"How come?"

"I used it to enter bike this morning."

"But you came early." She looked confused.

I did it to avoid Timi."I whined burying my head in her laps in embarrassment. She laughed.

"You see your life. What of Dozie?"

"We haven't talked since when he texted."

'Oh," was her only reply.

"Yeah."

"Stand up lets go to the canteen. Don't worry it's on me."

"Ehhhh big girl."I  whined her with a smile.

During long break I saw Timi and Sylvia seriously arguing. Everyone in the canteen saw it. After their long heated conversation, Timi walked out in annoyance.

Becca smiled, "I don't understand why our favorite ship is sinking."

"Which favorite ship?" Angel asked and hissed.

"Their ship is just like titanic. Doomed to sink. Timi has been putting up with Sylvia, he even tried." Michael said laughing very hard.

Everyone on the table except me laughed. I was just quite. I didn't even know how I felt. I excused my self and went in search of Timi. I knew where he would be.

He was there. Sitting with his phone in his hands and he didn't notice me approach him. I studied him for a while before talking. He looked a bit sad, But when he saw me every sadness on his face turned to a smirk.

"Couldn't stay mad at me for long right?"

"Don't flatter yourself. I didn't know you would be here." lies.

  He patted the empty sit beside him, "Sit." and I did.

"So...what happened?"

"With?" He asked pretending not to know what I was talking about.

"You know what I'm talking about."

"Nothing happened. We fought and I asked for a break."

"Why did you guys fight?"

"Why are you so nosy?" He asked angrily.

I got up."Okay Mr grumpy I'm leaving."

I was at the door when I heard his voice, "Stay. Please."

I turned with a smile and sat down. I placed my head on his shoulder without saying anything. We stayed that way for a while. Even when we heard the bell we remained that way. Well until his phone ringtone blared out and I silently groaned.

"Hello", he started. After a pause he replied "I dey come" he said before hanging up.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"Michael. I'm needed in the principal's office."

I nodded slowly and stood up. Timi held my hands. "Please wait for me after school, lets go home together."

I shook my head, " No way."

"Sylvia wont be with me, Please."

I sighed giving up, "Fine."

When I got to the class everyone had gathered in a big circle. I sighted Becca, "Whats happening?"

She smiled," Join us. Truth or dare."

"Sure."
