I bade Mom goodbye as I jumped inside my car.
It was the final batch of our personal belongings that's been loaded in my trunk and backseat.
We are now transferring in our own new home. Ayaw talaga ng parents ko. Napakaluwag naman daw ng bahay, pwede naman daw na nagtayo na lang sana kami sa loob ng villa.
But I insist.
I am building my own family. I should be independent.
We bought a house in an exclusive village a few minutes away from our building. Malapit lang sa work para hindi hindrance yung byahe.
Para marami akong time sa mag-iina ko. And I can go home in a sec in case something unusual happens.
Our home is a two-storey house that has five rooms sa second floor: one for us, one for Dzen (pronounced as JEN), one for Ken, a study room and a guest room. May common room din sa center that serves as play and watch room for the kids. Bawal ang tv sa room nila. They have their own rooms pero sa room namin sila natutulog kaya we bought two queensized bed para kasya kaming apat.
Sa baba ay si Jema ang nagdesign. May kusina kami sa gilid ng house. A dirty kitchen na half ng wall is made of steel matting, para open air daw at hindi maconfine yung amoy pag nagluluto. Karugtong din nun ang laundry area.
May mini kitchen din sa loob. Mini as in lababo at counter lang na may microwave at maliit na fridge na paglalagyan daw ng pagkain ng mga bata and beverages for us.
A 10-seater dining table and a small room para daw sa siesta ng mga bata.
Our living room is very large. Mas maliit than the one in the villa pero malaki na ito compare sa ibang mga house dito sa village.
Jema wants the kids to be able to play anywhere.
Pag umulan daw kasi hindi na pwede sa likod bahay.
It has a large backyard, sa front ay may garage that houses five vehicles pero apat lang ang sasakyan namin sa ngayon. No swimming pool, baka kasi makalingat kami at bigla na lang tumalon ang mga anak ko ng walang nakakakita.
Thirty minutes away lang naman ang villa so they can swim pa rin anytime they want.
It has a small separate house for the helpers, Deti and her squad, as we used to address our senior house maid and her five minions. May isa pa silang kasama dun, si Lea. The five minions take turns sa pagiging nanny ng kambal. Jema arranged their schedule. Para daw kasi nakakapagpahinga sila. Taking care of the twins is no joke.
It has one large room for the five helpers, one room for Deti and one for Lea.
Lea is my newly hired driver/bodyguard for Jema.
Yep, she is a girl. Azalea Compton, or Lea is a 30 year old ex-navy seal. A 5'11 Filipino-American soldier who was badly wounded during her last encounter sa ISIS. Yun daw ang reason kaya nag-early retire siya. Though from her looks ay wala naman akong nakikitang battle scar.
I admire her really. Every year thousands of women applies for that valiant job pero marami na ang tatlo na nakakapasa after years of training.
She said during the job interview that she was not after the money. Hindi lang daw talaga siya sanay ng walang ginagawa. She was taking a vacation lang daw sa bahay ng cousin niya dito sa Cebu at nakita niya yung job hiring na pinost namin sa announcement board sa mall.
