  Alex's POV

"Mr. Carter, Mr. Pablo is on the phone." I looked up at my secretary and frowned. Why would Santiago be calling me? We're staying at the same hotel, his room is right next to mine so the call must be important. Probably something about Kalliyah.

"Okay, thanks." I took up the landline and brought it to my ears. I have been working since last week. I realize that she might not wake after all. It's being two hectic weeks and she still hasn't woken up. I wonder sometimes if she ever will. I visit her every day but she doesn't respond.

"Hey, Santiago. What can I do for you?" I asked in a nonchalant voice.

"She's awake," he said in an excited voice.

"What?" my heart jumped. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I want him to say it again.

"She's awake, Alexander. Alliyah is in the room talking to her now." He sounds really happy and so slowly the weight that has been on my heart felt like it was lifted.

"I'll be there in five minutes." I smiled and hanged up the phone. I shut down my laptop and stood from the chair. I closed my door and walked in the living hall were my secretary was sitting on the couch with her cellphone in her hands, "Lisa, I'm heading to the hospital. No calls please."

She before she could answer I was already out the day facing to the elevator.

Thank God it came almost immediately. I entered and pressed the ground floor. When I the elevator doors opened I quickly ran out and ran straight towards the door.

"Mr. Carter." the receptionist said.

"When I get back," I shouted and continued running until I was at the entrance of the hotel. As soon as I stopped I noticed a taxi so I fanned him down. When he stopped I quickly entered, "St. Joesph Hospital. You can take the short cuts, I'll pay you $100."

The Sikh man nods his head and smile then started driving. I looked out the window of the taxi but I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings, all I could think about his Kalliyah. She's awake, my baby is awake.

I can finally get to see her beautiful eyes and hear her laugh.

I took a deep breath and thank God for beginning her back to me.

I don't plan on hurting her ever again. I plan on taking care of her. To be a great husband to me.

Husband?

Yes, I want to marry her.

While she was in a coma my heart was breaking and I realized that without her my life is dull and painful. Without her the only thing that mattered is work. Without her, I'm not happy. She makes me happy and I'll do everything in my will to make her happy. She's my heart and I have to protect her with everything in me.

I love her. I love Kalliyah Bisson.

The news about the accident spread to my parents. Now they know that Kalliyah was, in fact, telling the truth. I also told them that I forgave Alliyah for her wrongdoings and that she has changed and has a man that loves her. She won't make the same stupid mistake twice. After all, she wants to be a part of her son's life. She deserves that much, Santiago too. They're a great couple. It was obvious that he loved her and he wasn't afraid to let it show. He's very gallant with it.

"We're here," he said in a thick Indian accent. I quickly took the hundred dollar bill out of my purse and hand it to him.

"Thanks," I said as I exited the taxi. He nods his head then drove off.
