Six- You w-what?

I woke up. It's Wednesday so I was about 50% happy. I got ready for school and said bye to my mom and Jonathan. I rode to school and like always I am early.

I arrive at school and head to my locker. I grab my things and head to Mr. Clarke's classroom. He always unlocks it for me, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas cause he knows we always come early.

I set my books down. I go up to his desk and look at what he has planned for our lesson. I grab the chalk and start writing.

"Will? Why are you writing on the board?" Mr. Clark asked as he shut the door.

"Oh...sorry...I just thought it would be easier for you if I wrote the important stuff down so it would save you time during the lesson..." I say.

"That's very kind of you Will. Continue." He said leaving the room again.

I hear the door open then shut. I turn around and I see Mike.

"Uh excuse me sir...aren't you a little young to be teaching?" Mike said jokingly.

"Shut up Mike! I'm helping Mr. Clarke out!" I said giggling.

"Sorry, Mr. Byers I'll be quiet..." Mike said shutting his mouth.

I finish writing on the board and I sit down at my desk.

"Gee...you sure write and know things like a teacher. That's one of the reasons I love you..." Mike said before shutting up.

"You w-what?" I said before the bell rang. Mike stopped talking just as people started to enter the room.

Was he kidding when he said 'that's one of the reasons I love you'? or was he being serious? Ughh...I'll ask him later...

I snap out of my gaze and focus on Mr. Clarke's teaching, but like always...I'm thinking about Mike. Especially what he just said.

During the lesson, I passed a note to Mike. It said:

Can we meet? During lunch at the back of the school?

Mike passed me the note back. I read what he wrote underneath.

Sure. I'll be there.

I smiled.

After the double lesson of science, the bell rang so I put my stuff away and headed to the back of the school and waited for Mike.

Mike arrived shortly after.

"Why did you want to meet me here?" Mike asked.

"When you said 'that's one of the reasons I love you'...did you really mean it? or were you just kidding?" I asked.

Mike took a breath. All of a sudden, I felt a pair of lips on mine. Mike pulled away. He looked at me.

"I-I...I'm sorry...I didn't mean--" I cut Mike off.

"It's ok." I said smiling.

"It's just that I found out over my supercom...that you liked me and I realised...that I had feelings for you. I had told El...that I liked you and she understood. So...now...we're just friends." Mike said.

"I didn't want to tell you this way...but I kinda have no choice..." Mike said taking a deep breath in.

"I love you, Will..." Mike said.

"You w-what?" I asked.

"I love you Will. I never realised it til now, but I have liked you since kindergarten, when we first met and became friends." Mike said holding my hands.

"I love you too Mike. I have only realised it just recently." I said kissing Mike.

"I want to ask you before I chicken out." Mike took a deep breath.

"Will Byers...will you be my boyfriend?" Mike asked.

I smiled.

"Yes! Of course! Yes!" I yelled as Mike pulled me in for a kiss. We pulled away just as the bell rang. We quickly got our stuff and headed to class. Luckily we got into class just as the teacher did.
