Christmas Poem

Snowflakes fall like autumn leaves.
The cold and his mist conceives.
The clouds, a blanket of white.
Hiding below is the sovereign ice.
The blizzard of the north,
Hails to the South.
Captivating us in the world of snow.

Precious ornaments we hang on trees.
Gifts of wonder we wrapped under the leaves.
Lights on strings decorate the halls.
And the living room is transformed into a wedding ball.
Platters of food lay on the counter.
A feast to be had on Christmas hour.

Do you hear the choral hymns sang along the bay?
And stories of Santa riding on his sleigh?
Joyful noises sung along the freeway.
It's our cheer that excites the newbreed.

We love this part of the year.
Its the most wonderful time after all.
With hot cocoa and chocolate muffins
We reminisce of the long year before.
A decade of struggle, an endless war.

But soon just in 26 days.
We all will sit infront of a clock.
And welcome the end of this long and tiresome decade.
With hopes of what's to come in 2020 and onwards.
Our spirits are high, we're ready for the next decade.
