"Stay... away..." The fox said in a low, weak tone. You didn't listen, genuinely worried about the talking creature. "I won't hurt you, I promise." She whispered while she kneeled down.

At the sound of hurried footsteps towards them, the crunching of the snow reaching his ears, he looked up at the girl.

"Miss! What are you doing outside?! There is a wild creature out in the forest!" One of the soldiers said. You leaned forward into a royal bow, your hands resting on your stomach, at the sight of the general.

"I needed some fresh air. It's getting suffocating in my quarters." You replied. "Have you seen the creature?" The general asked.

You simply looked over your shoulder where a trail of blood drops tinted the white snow. "It went that way." You simply said, watching as all of them ran the way you said.

The fox stared in awe and confusion. He wondered how they didn't see him and how those drops had appeared there.

Then, he finally realized. "Magic..." He muttered. You confidently kneeled down in front of him, letting your hands rest on your lap.

A soft smile appeared in your lips, "I hid you from them." You replied. "I can sense something about you, you have a great destiny in front of you." You said.

What you said made him scoff in disbelief, his head falling on the snow again with a sarcastic chuckle. "Yeah, dying here while you watch." He whispered.

You saw his eyelids slowly fall, blocking his sight. You carefully reached over and caressed the fur on his head, feeling him move his head closer to the soft, caring touch.

Before it was too late and you regretted it, you carefully hugged the fox close to you and picked him up. The poor thing whimpered softly, his tense body starting to relax.

You couldn't exactly guess if it was because of your warmth or because his soul was leaving his body. Instead of staying and wondering what it was, you decided to head to your small home.

You were a princess, your family was not very royal neither were you low class. You lived alone, your parents had passed away long ago.

The world you lived in was full of mystical creatures. From a fox, like the one you were holding, to wolves and more furry creatures.

You were used to finding animals like these, but, the fox is the first one you ever got the chance to help. When the others saw you, they ran away, wounded or not.

Maybe the fox wanted to run away but he was too tired. Still, it warmed your heart that he trusted you enough to let you help him.

After reaching your small house...

You went up the steps, going inside after sliding one door open. You laid the fox down on your blanket after placing a small towel. That way, the blood wouldn't stain your blanket.

After gathering all the things needed to help him, you starting taking care of his cuts and wounds, stitching them and disinfecting them.

After a while, you were done but exhausted. It was late already and you had skipped your bedtime. With a sigh, you laid your head down to rest for a bit, accidentally slipping off and falling asleep.

While you were asleep, after a few hours, the fox turned back to its human form, waking up to find himself covered with the blanket you had placed him on.

He sat up and let out a groan, moving his hand to his abdomen to see the cut you had stitched and cleaned. He smiled a little, turning to glance at you.

He was naked, the blanket only covering his lower body while his torso was in sight. After seeing you sleeping peacefully, a few strands of hair covering your face, he moved them carefully away.

"Thank you..." He whispered before getting up and heading off outside. When it was morning, you woke up, finding the space in front of you empty.

You looked around to see the fox was there either. "He's gone." You sighed, rubbing your eyes and stretching before deciding to prepare yourself.

After fixing your hanbok and hair, you washed your face. You went outside to your garden, gathering a few potatoes and onion to make some breakfast.

"Princess?" A male voice said from behind you. You squealed at the sound of the voice, turning around and falling back on your butt, the vegetables scattered.

Your breath was ragged, panting at the sight of the man standing before you. He was handsome, wearing a male hanbok, one arm resting on his abdomen.

He stretched the other hand to help you up, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you, princess." He said, helping you up when you took his hand.

You bowed at him with a soft smile, "It's okay, I didn't expect you here." You said. You wondered if he was the fox from yesterday.

"Are you...?" You trailed off, the man smiling. "I guess you heard I was coming." The man said, making you confused.

"I am Park Jimin. The king's equerry." He said. 'So, Jimin, huh?' You thought. "I'm Princess Y/n, the only-" He cut you off.

"I know. That's why the king sends me." Jimin said. You hummed and bowed your head, moving to gather the potatoes and onions from the floor.

"Why would the king want you to see me?" You asked, turning to him once you finished gathering everything in the apron you were wearing, holding the ends.

"He thinks he has found a way to stop the curse," Jimin replied.
