Wednesdays were particularly exhausting as they tended to be the one day per week in which he had to attend all five of his classes back to back. He had spent the better part of his lunch hour tucked away in the library just writing. The words were flowing beautifully, and within the hour he had managed to write four thousand words. Grinning, he shot off an email to his beta reader and made his way to his last period class, trying to push the story out of his mind for the remainder of the day.

To Damien's dismay, however, his mind was abuzz all throughout his class, as he waited to hear back so he could post the first part of his new story. By the end of fifth period, Damien all but ran back to the locker room to pull out his phone and check his emails:

Holy shit! This is incredible! Don't change a thing! I've only updated a handful of punctuation issues but otherwise, it's perfect. I'm in love, you have no idea.

Damien couldn't help but grin as he read over the email, again. Locking his phone, Damien shoved it into his back pocket, all but sprinting back to the library with his backpack and laptop to post the new story. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been so excited for a new fic.

The library was largely empty upon Damien's arrival, yet he still found himself sneaking into a far corner of the topmost floor of the building in an effort to get away from his fellow classmates. Pulling out his laptop, Damien opened it, scanning his fingerprint to unlock it, and opened his email client. They worked in Google Docs to save time. Damien accepted the necessary changes, copied the story and opened a new tab with Tumblr in it.

He had pondered the title for the better part of the week since he had started writing it: The Unexpected Roommate. He smiled, typing in the title, adding in the necessary tags: Addius, Adam Spellock, Claudius Belanger, college au, room sharing, forced bed-sharing, writing, slow burn, then pasted the story into the new post.

He read over the story one last time, making sure to double-check it was exactly how he wanted it before he clicked post. Beneath it, he added a personal note about the story and thanked his beta reader for their assistance. He smiled, satisfied with his work and clicked the post button.

Opening Archive of Our Own, Damien created a new story post, filling in the necessary information:

Fandom: The Wisher Trilogy

Pairing: Adam Spellock/Claudius Belanger

Summary. Damien pondered this for a moment. The hardest part was always the summary.

The exact note he had written in Scrivener before he had copied it to Google Docs for his beta reader's approval had been: Claudius wasn't meant to have a roommate. His father had promised him a private room when he attended university. So why was there someone standing in his room looking as though he belonged there? And why was he so good looking?

Damien smiled triumphantly as he looked over his handiwork one last time on Archive before he pressed Post. He couldn't help but feel a small thrum of excitement course through him. Going back to his Scrivener file Damien busied himself with writing the next chapter while he still had the drive to do so. His mind was humming with ideas and he couldn't wait to see where the story lead him. He wasn't really a plotter. He often had a general idea of where the story was leading, they would inevitably get together, though Claudius would be a drama queen about it. It was the journey that he enjoyed the most.

After what had felt like mere seconds, but had in actuality been several hours, Damien could feel a presence hovering over him. He looked up to find Carrie standing beside him. "Busy?" she asked, trying to look over his shoulder. Damien shut the lid of his laptop on instinct.
