Chapter nine

"Zac,come on we need to go"
I shouted up the stairs.
Today,I'm taking him to get him checked in to the hospital.
"I'm not going!"
He shouted back. I ran upstairs to see him sitting on his bed. "Why not?" I asked. It's not like I don't want him here,it's just that it'll be better for him there.
"I'm not crazy,you said so yourself!"
I sighed before answering.
"You're not crazy but it's better for you there"
"Why,because I need someone to keep an eye on me in case I do something CRAZY?"
He was getting angrier with each word.
"That's not why I want you to go there,I just want to help you and you'll get the best help if you stay there"
"No,I don't wanna go!"
I have no idea what to do which is why I said what I said next.
"Alright,you can stay here but we're still gonna have to go there to get you checked in as a patient so I can give you the help you need" I want to help him,I really do but he's being difficult.
"Thank you!" He gave me a huge smile. I guess giving into him is worth it just to see that smile.
"Come on,lets go"

This time,he got up and followed me down stairs without a fuss.

We got to the hospital and I signed in. I took Zac to a private room and logged onto the computer.
"Alright,I need you to answer a few questions."
He just nodded,letting me know to continue.
"What's you're full name?"
"Zachary David Alexander Efron"
I typed it in and moved onto the next question.
"Age?"
"25"
"Name of parents"
"Joseph Efron and Rachel knight"
I froze when I heard his mother's name. I need to speak to Oliver.
"Alright,when's you're birthday?"
"18th of October"
I asked a few more questions and sent off his details to my boss.

We're now outside Oliver Daniels room.
"Zac,I just need to speak to this man,can you wait outside?"
"Sure"

I walked in and closed the door behind me.
"Hello,I know I don't usually come to see you today but I need to ask you something."
He looked up from whatever he was doing and gave me his full attention.
"What was the name of the man who paid you to kill Rachel knight?"
He thought for a moment and answered "Joseph Efron"
That it,I was right.
"Okay,thank you,have you taken anything since I last saw you?"
"No,they've taken my entire stash"
Oh good.
"Good,if you do that again,I won't lie to help you anymore,I'll send you to rehab without a question."

Just then,the door broke in.
"YOU KILLED MY MOTHER!"
Oh no,Zac please don't do anything stupid. He was about to pounce on a terrified looking Oliver when I jumped in front of him.
"Zac,I asked you to wait outside"
"NO! YOU'RE A LIAR! YOU'RE HELPING THIS MURDERER!"
"Zac,calm down and wait outside,I'll talk to you in a minute"
"No you won't,I'm leaving! I don't care if I have to live on the streets,I don't wanna be anywhere near you!"
He then walked right out of the room.
I don't know what to do!
"Oliver,I'm very sorry,I'll come talk to you tomorrow" I smiled before following Zac outside.
I caught up to him and pulled on his arm. He turned around and looked at me with such anger and hatred,I've never seen him like this. He's normally so sweet and innocent looking.

"LEAVE ME ALONE,I DON'T WANT YOUR HELP,I DON'T NEED YOU,I GOT ALEX!"
"Zac-"
"NO GO AWAY! Just go away and leave me a-aloneee-"
He started to cry and I pulled him into a hug. He didn't push me away and just cried on my shoulder.
I pulled away,took his hand and lead him to a quiet room.
I shut the door behind me and sat him down.
He looked so vulnerable.
I hugged him again and listened to him sob.
"M-my mum-m's gooonee"
I rubbed his back in a comforting way.
"I know" I whispered softly.
"She's gone a-and he killed her"
"Just let it out" it's really good for him to cry,it'll help him get over his mother.
"I-I misss her-r"
This broke my heart. He's like a little boy who just wants his mother.
"I know you do"
I hugged him tighter to let him know I'm here for him.

My mind drifted to Joseph Efron. Zac's father. When Zac told me his dad paid a man to kill him mum,I didn't put the pieces together to realise it was the same man who paid Oliver.
But he's still out there.

I need to talk to Zac about calling the police about his dad. When Oliver told me he was paid by a man,I didn't know who it was but now I know and I know he's an escaped prisoner. I can't bring it up now though,it would just upset him further.

There was a knock on the door,pulling me from my thoughts.
I just ignored it,I'm busy and Zac didn't seem to notice.
There was another knock before the door opened and in walked.....
