Childhood facts about Xiang

-Xiang's favorite childhood memory is when his little sister was born because he said the day that his sister was born it felt like he had become her protector and warrior that needed to protect her from everything bad

-From newborn to the age of 5 1/2 Xiang and his mother lived with his grandparents in their house in Taiwan and would spend the majority of his time with his grandparents while his mother was working on the side to her modeling.

-As a child (and also as an adult) Xiang was extremely close to his grandparents and saw them as his best friends that he told everything to, good or bad.

-As a child Xiang loved watching power ranger, action man and Chinese/ Taiwanese (child friendly) warrior shows

-Xiang learnt English at a young age through Power rangers

-As a child Xiang was a proud Owner of 7 power ranger onesies and 2 piece pajamas

-Xiang taught himself to play guitar, bass, piano, saxophone and drums. He received his first piano at the age of 3, but didn't properly learn to play until he was 4.

- when he was younger and he misbehaved badly when he was being looked after by his grandfather (who was both strict but also extremely close with him), he would be disciplined using a bamboo stick

- Since middle school Xiang has worn a dog tag given to him by his grandfather from before he retired from the army. Even since it has become his #1 most prized possession and he still wears it as an adult especially during comebacks and concerts

-As a child Xiang only liked 4 Disney movies, Lion King, Toy story, Tarzan and Mulan and when he watched Mulan Xiang had a crush on character Mulan

-When Xiang was 4 he got lost in the mall when shopping with his mother so he went to a security guard and asked the guard to radio the speakers in the mall and ask his mum to collect him.

-At the age of 4 Xiang's grandparents enrolled him in Wing chin (Southern Chinese Kung fu style), at 6 they enrolled him in Kyūdō (a Japanese Archery martial art) and at 8 they enrolled him in horseback riding.

-Xiang is considered to be one of the smartest people and academically gifted people from Taiwan.

-In middle school Xiang was accepted into an academic program to Canada for the second school term after taking an exam that only 5% of Taiwanese students are able to pass, Xiang was the only person in the country to get 100% on that exam.

-When he was 10 Xiang finished second in a local singing competition called Taipei idol, he was the youngest person in the competition and the person in first place was 17

-When applying to universities Xiang got all his  offers in Taiwan after passing the university exams with 100%

-When Xiang was 14 he signed himself up to voluntarily help teach disadvantaged and disabled people and he done this until the day that he left Taiwan.

-When Xiang was 15 he met the Taiwanese president at the time (Chen Shui-bian) who awarded him with the Taiwanese presidential education award for his academic success (he was the smarted child in Taiwan at the time) and for his work with disabled and disadvantaged people.
