Poem: Climate Changed

A new decade is coming
And we still have leaders who don't give a rat's ass
We still have a system where we're pushed to
Worship money

As Keanu said earlier in the year
"Consequences, it's all about
Consequences"

It's winter here
With coastal non-stop rain
And interior snow storms
Blocking highways
And taking a life

But in Ausland, it's summer
The hottest summer ever

Fires are burning all over
While a climate change denying prime minister
Parties in Hawaii
Taking happy pics
On the beach

After the bushfires have passed
Newby beekeepers are sent in
To check on the bee colonies
Now the newbs need counselling

Because what they heard
In those burnt-out ruins and forest ashes
Will haunt them for life

Screaming
Agonised wails of pain
From bush animals
Suffering
Dying
From the fires

Their families killed
Their habitats destroyed

They've become victims
Of humanity's leaders
Of the assholes who told us
Each atom has a dollar value
Attached to it
Who first murdered and sidelined
Indigenous peoples worldwide
Along with nature and its creatures

Now they'll take us all down
And force us to be involved
In their project

The crying animals
Have all been
Climate changed

We all
Each one of us
And all future
Generations

Have been
Climate
Changed

What will you do now?
What will I do?
