Poem: Morning Mist

Dew from heaven buckets
Has descended on the forest it kissed
The blue sky veiled with hazy images
Welcome to the morning mist

Trucks and cars whizz nearby
On freeways of thunder
The fog temporarily
Pulls my soul under

Haunting trees with flitting birds
Wintering grasses, sleeping fields
I am curiously at home in these
Heavy, sombre worlds

Home beckons though
Here my poetic strains can release
I am one with this moment in time
In a strangely comforting peace

Eagles and salmon, robins and squirrels
Pine, evergreen and willows their home
The day has only just begun
The starting line is this poem
