if you're going to add an original character to fanfic, don't just plop them in.
add to the existing story. give you're character original dialogue. don't give your character dialogue that belongs to an existing character.
i hate reading a story and it's essentially just a plop in character. they don't add anything to the existing story and are just there to be there. they really don't even have a personality.
when i read this type of shit it really irks me. because it comes off as the author not giving a fuck to flesh out a character that can stand alone. of your oc is good and fleshed out, you should be able to put them in any fandom and they add to it.
dont do place and plop characters that are as bland as cardboard.
