"He's been avoiding me for weeks now, Meg!"
Nina burst into tears once more and slammed her face on her open palm. She cried deliberately and sobbed like there's no tomorrow
"No text.. No call. Nothing, Meg!"
"Teka Nina.. Isa isa lang pwede?" I patted her back to sooth her up from crying
"Ano ba kasi nangyari?"
"We fought two days ago about this call that I happen to answer. It came from a girl, Meg. A girl.. I just can't pinpoint who it might be" She bit her lower lip, something she would do often if she's nervous and anxious all wrapped into one
"He wont tell me who it was .. so we ended up a night with a fight. Tapos, after that walang text, call wala lahat. It's like kasalanan ko pa na nagduda ako." She grunted in frustration and ran her hands on her hair
"He rubbed it on my face na wala daw akong trust sa kaniya .. But how am I suppose to trust him with this one if he's giving me reasons to doubt him?" More tears rolled down her cheeks as she continued to sob hysterically
"Nina" I drew out the extra stand on her face and cleared out her forehead "Kaya tayo sinasaktan ng mga taong mahal natin kasi alam nilang hindi natin sila kayang iwan"
Napabuntong hininga na lang ako nung naalala ko just weeks ago, I saw Gerard na binuksan ang passenger's seat ng kotse niya only for a girl hop on inside. I can't pinpoint who it might be cause her back was facing my direction
Im really not in the place to say anything or make an assumption but sometimes when instincts kick in .. you can't help but make up a conclusion. But the rational side on my head says it must've been his thesis partner and maybe, He was just being gentleman giving her a ride
It must be that ..
"Shouldn't you be happy, cause whomever get closes to the one you love, he still manages to be with you, every time?" By that, Nina's head snapped up and was trying to tame her own sob
"Maybe .. just maybe, that girl was nothing but a friend. Alam mo naman si Gerard di'ba? He's popular. 'Course he'll have loads of circles. You just have to trust him" I pulled up a smile
That's the only thing I could do .. for now since I don't have a solid conclusion just yet
"Thanks, Meg. For being there. Maayos namin 'to" She said or more like reassuring her self that it would work out just fine in the end
"Tiwala lang, Nina.. Tiwala"

It was my 18th birthday. I was still a sophomore in college and Apart from Nina, I didn't tell anyone about it, not even Jose.
My mom didn't greet me yet at that time.. maybe because of the different timezone we had or maybe she was just busy as I would like to think she was.
Music, presents, cake, the whole cliché thing, I didn't have those nor did I expect one.
So instead of going back to the dorm room I was sharing with Nina, I decided to go back to that one apartment I bought after scheming both Kathrina and Jake back in high school
