Chapter 18: Fight till the end pt 1

When everyone realized that Sawyer too was kidnapped by the grounders it set off a bomb. It was like all of a sudden no one could do anything right without their 2 girl leaders. Bellamy was falling apart on the inside but kept it together 

Sawyer and Clarke were tied up watching the grounders and Anya. They both kept quiet before a man named Tristan popped up. He walked up close to Sawyer and Clarke who were backing away 

"Who are you?" Clarke asked. "I'm the man sent to slaughter your people" he answers making the girls gulp. Anya looked confused "The commander sent you?" she asked 

"Your unit is mine now" Anya's face fell and Tristan continued  "My rangers are hungry and at the river. Go feed them! We march on the invaders' camp at first light. I'll make quick work of what you failed to do, starting with this one" 

Sawyer and Clarke looked at each other in fear before Anya announced "signal fire" which caught their attention and moved them away 

"Reapers" Tristan says in disgust. "Let them know we see it. I'll send my fastest rider to warn the commander" Anya says turning to Tristan 

"No. There is no time. Kill the prisoners. Get to the river" Tristan walks away leaving Anya and a grounder "Is the boy dead?" Anya asks. The grounder nods and Sawyer gasps. Her head becomes heavy and starts to hurt 

"Good. Kill the girl and catch up" she instructs. The grounder nods and tears fall from Clarke's eyes 

Sawyer gulps, she can't die. She needed to be there to Peta and she needed to get back to her friends

Sawyer and Clarke jump up and try and run away only to be yanked back  by the chains. Sawyer groans and is knocked out cold from the impact. Tears fall from Clarke's eyes as she stares at her friend who's face is all cut up 

Clarke's eyes slowly shut and the grounder gets ready to drag them

Lincoln rode an unconscious Clarke and Sawyer on a horse to Finn who was actually alive. Sawyer woke up as Lincoln was pulling her off the horse. Her eyes opened to see Finn shocked she took off and jump off into his arms 

"Oh my god! Finn" 

Finn held Sawyer in his arms before Clarke awoke and ran to him as well "I don't understand" Sawyer says confused. The grounder lifted his mask to reveal Lincoln. "Lincoln saved my life" Finn confessed 

"The signal fire, it was your distraction" Sawyer says connecting the pieces. Lincoln nods. "It didn't work too well so we gotta go" Lincoln says  

Suddenly a fire went off in the distance, "What does it mean?" Finn asks confused at Lincolns fear. "It means Anya knows Clarke and Sawyer aren't dead" Lincoln hits the horse which sends it running before he takes off 

"What do we do know?" Clarke yells confused "No we run! Come on its right up here" Lincoln leads. "What is?" Sawyer asks confused as she follows Lincoln 

"Someplace they won't follow" Lincoln answers. Running through fallen trees and dark woods Sawyer gasps for air. Her body was still aching in pain. Lincoln lead them to a cave "Where does this lead?" Finn asks confused. 

"Everywhere, there's a tunnel to your camp. If you make if through you shouldn't get there before Tristan, Go! Go!" Lincoln yelled 

Not wasting time Sawyer sprinted through the cave leading with Finn and Clarke behind her

They all eventually stopped running and Lincoln had clacked stones together to make a fire  

"You were right, they didn't follow us" Finn said coming closer to the crouched group
