Chapter 36: Back in the Field

Sawyer was in the chancellor's office, she was writing notes on the map she drew on the large whiteboard. Her head turned at the sound of a knock on the door, she smiled at the sight of her boyfriend waiting at the door. She gestured for him to come in before she put her finger up to her lips to shush him 

"This is the first sleep the Chancellor's had in two days" Sawyer said pointing over to a knocked out Abby who laid on the couch. Bellamy walked over and kissed her lips, Sawyer smiled before scrunching her nose in disgust 

"Yuck, you're sweaty" she teased. Bellamy smiled and kissed her one more time

"We're going into sector 7. I think we should arm the entire unit" Bellamy asks 

Sawyer nods instantly "Permission granted" she shrugs. "But the rules of engagement still apply, non lethal response" Sawyer declared. Bellamy nodded "Copy that" 

Bellamy turned around to walk out the room. "Babe" Sawyer said making Bellamy stop and turn to her "There hasn't been an attack since Mount Weather. It's been 3 months and our people are getting used to this real peace so please, try not to screw this up" 

Bellamy nodded and kissed the girl one last time "love you" Bellamy said. Sawyer smiled and watched him as he walked away. Sawyer turned back to the map and wrote 'sector 7' in large writing 

Kane walked in the room "Hey, Gina just came in with a new shipment from Mount Weather, she says she has that special package you requested" he said 

"Oh yes!" Sawyer cheered quietly, she capped her marker and placed it down on the desk "Um, can you cover this for me?" Sawyer asked as she reached for her guards jacket

Kane nodded "You should go with the team out to sector 7" Kane advised "Why?" Sawyer asked confused as she pulled the jacket through her arms 

"Well, all your friends are going and I figured you haven't gone outside the wall in a while" Kane said shrugging

"Ok, I will just please call in with David Miller and check the secret channel" 

Kane nodded and watched as the girl sprinted out of the room

Sawyer ran into engineering that had been turned into a huge garage/ hangar bay. She saw Bellamy running around getting things organized. Sawyer ran over to Gina who was scolding Zeke "I said produce first!" 

"Easy run?" Sawyer asked as she looked into the large loading trunk that Gina was in. "Too easy" Gina said sarcastically making Sawyer laugh 

"You were right about that package by the way, they did have it" Gina said as she pulled out the book Sawyer requested 

Sawyer squealed as Gina jumped down from the truck and passed the girl the book. "Wow, it's beautiful" Sawyer said in shock as she rubbed her hands over the book she requested as a surprise for Bellamy, The Iliad, it was a book his Mother read to him as a kid 

"He's gonna love it, thank you so much" Sawyer said as she hugged the girl "Of course" Gina laughed

Sawyer smiled and turned to a guard who was pulling things out the loading truck "Please, bring this to my office" Sawyer instructed. The guard nodded and ran off 

Sawyer turned and walked across the garage over to the team who was loading up to leave. "What are you doing here?" Bellamy asked 

"You really think I'd miss an opportunity to go outside the wall" Sawyer teased
