[ This is my lovely surprise for you all that I've been working on! Did any of you guess right? I've found that this is my favorite AU just because of how domestic it can be, but also because of the morbid jokes that could be made. It's just wonderful. I decided to have it come out a bit earlier. Enjoy~ ]

I have learned many things from the time I was once just a simple village girl living a quiet life. I had learned even more when that quiet life was taken away from me by that so-called 'righteous' Church and their golden child.

1.) The good guys are not always as good as they seem.

2.) Making deals with spirits is very profitable, if you do it correctly.

and 3.) Humans are fucking persistent.

The #3 is extremely important for the current situation I happen to be at the moment. Ever since I had entered this castle under the Dark Lady in order to repay her kindness, having saved my life and all as my village burned to ashes. However, I never thought that it would cause such a ruckus among the human population.

Believing I had been kidnapped. How could they get anymore stupid before being considered a new species of human?

Some idiot humans who called themselves adventurers or heroes or something had broken into the castle again, right after the poor dwarves fixed the gates again. I'd have to make something good and hardy for dinner to lift their spirits. I wonder if they'd like a roast. If they ask for beer or ale I'll have to limit their intake a bit. When I start giving alcohol to the residents of this castle it's hard to get them to stop.

I was sitting nowhere near the 'heroes' who had entered the castle, but I could see and hear them due to a magic device known as a Crystal Ball. It was a surveillance item that was only granted to high-ranking members of the hierarchy, which I could be considered somewhat. To be the Dark Lady's right-hand, be known to the human world as the 'Demon of Wind', and hold an extra reputable title in the castle would surely make me a high-ranker. Although a recently low-key one for various reasons. One of them being heroes seeking glory by rescuing a princess.

You heard that right. Apparently, idiots got the idea of the 'kidnapped' lady of the Dark Lady's castle being a beautiful princess from a far away land who needed to be rescued.

If they had this much imagination they should've been authors instead of adventurers.

"You evil beings! We beseech you to return the princess immediately!" A young man, most likely a knight, had yelled into the foyer. His little group which held an archer, cleric, barbarian, and warlock was quickly being surrounded by our undead guards. Personally trained by me, if I do say so myself.

The Undead Captain, who I had named Charles after the Dark Lady created him, only let out a roar of battle and the fighting began. I was so proud, seeing my carefully trained warriors go into battle without fear or hesitation. Is this what mothers felt like when they saw their children achieve something? I like to believe its somewhat like that.

Although, this battle was taking a bit too long. The Dark Lady would be coming home from conquering within the hour and most of the humans were still standing. I'm glad I made the suggestion of making the carpet red to mask the color of blood, but cleaning up the bones of any of the undead for reconstruction would take a bit. I stood up from my seat at the table with the Crystal Ball and prepared to go out.

"My Lady, please do not go out of the room! Her Majesty requested you stay put."

Oh. I almost forgot I had a maid. This maid's name was Rachael, a girl I had saved from the Church's clutches when she was being considered as a maid for the Church's golden child, Carole. She was a quiet girl, but she did her work well. It also helped that she was a human like me.
