You slowly walk towards your dorm room, you couldnt help but notice the aura of the school is gloomy now.

Well, the war did just end, and everyone's still sad about the losses and such. You couldnt blame them, you lost people too, just not physically.

You sigh as you enter your dorm room. today was the day when everyone's supposed to come back to Hogwarts, but you did arrive earlier than you're supposed to, because you wanted to help rebuild the castle.

You took a bath to freshen up and got into your Y/H robes with a cold expression. As you tie your tie, you looked at yourself in the mirror, and tried to put a smile on your face, but it was almost impossible. You remember the easier times, the ones when your smile cant leave your face. You just wished it was that simple.

Finishing your tie, you shook off your thoughts and went out of your dorm room, going down to the great hall.

When you arrived, the hall was filled with familiar faces and first years that are eager to get themselves sorted into their houses

You sat down on the very end of your house's table and sighed. You looked around the hall, but immediately froze when you saw an all too familiar face. Your eyes widen, you didnt expect to see him here. Not after what happened.

He felt eyes on him, so he looked up, and saw you. He looked tired, and sad. He had an apologetic look. You broke the eye contact and looked down on your fingers, and fidled with them.

It was his fault, he left you without a word.

You guess you'll just see what happens.

"welcome, everyone to another year at Hogwarts" professor McGonagall started, or should you say, headmistress McGonagall. "now, i know that the last year hasnt been the best year. But now, Voldemort-" there were a few gasps, "-is finally gone, we could all be peaceful. The ones who passed during the war shall always be remembered as heroes, fighting for the good until their final breaths." she said, then to get off the sad topic she said, "i would like to thank the students who arrived earlier to help rebuild the castle, to all of you, you were a big help"

professor McGonagall then said all the rules, and stuff, and the sorting began, and soon ended.

The prefects then called over the houses they're responsible for. You stood up, following your housemates to your commonroom

Just as you were about to head up the stairs, someone pulls you to the side, "hey!" you exclaimed

As soon as you saw who it was, you felt your heartbeat stop. You werent ready to face him, not yet. You freed from his grip on your wrist and turned around
