Chapter 56 - Boggart

Erika's POV
"Intriguing, isn't it?" asked Pofessor Lupin. The cabinet was shaking and everyone in the classroom got startled just a bit.

I was standing by Harry and Belle.
"Would anyone like to venture a guess...as to what is inside?" he asked.
"That's a boggart, that is." replied Dean.
"Very good, Mr. Thomas." The cabinet shake again.
"Now, can anybody tell me what a boggart looks like?"
"No one knows." said Hermione, popping out of nowhere.
"When did she get here?" Ron whispered to us. Harry and I just shrugged. While Belle didn't say anything.
"Boggarts are shape-shifters. They take the shape of whatever a person fears the most. That's what makes them so--" Professor Lupin cut her off. "So terrifying, yes, yes, yes..." he said.

"Luckily, a simple charm exists to repel a boggart." The cabinet shake loudly this time, cause Lupin to turn over his shoulder and then he looked at us.
"Let's practice it now. Without wands, please. After me. RIDDIKULUS!" he said.
"Riddikulus!" We said.
"Very good. But a little louder. RIDDIKULUS!" he said louder.

"Riddikulus!" We said it louder and very clear.

"This class is ridiculous." I heard Malfoy said.

"Then why you're here, pabo." Belle mumbled.
"Belle, now's not the time to start a fight." I whispered.

Belle sighed and paid attention to Lupin.

"Very good. So much for the easy part. You see, the incantation alone is not enough. What really finishes a boggart is laughter. You need to force it to assume a shape you find truly amusing." he said.

"Neville, will you come up, please." Lupin said.
He walked to Professor Neville.

"Now, Neville. What are you most afraid of?" Professor Lupin.
Neville mumbled something.

"Sorry?" Lupin asked.
"Professor Snape." Neville said.

We laughed at that.

"Professor Snape, huh? I do believe you live with your grandmother." Lupin said.
"Yes, I don't want him to turn into her either." Neville said.

"No, just imagine her clothes only. Here's I want you to do." Professor Lupin walked up to Neville and whispered.

"Imagine Professor Snape in your grandmother's clothes."

Belle and I snickered at that.
Imagine Snape with a dress on. I thought.

"Wand at the ready." Professor Lupin unlocked the cabinet and it opened.
Snape walked out.

"Think Neville think." Lupin encouraged him.
As Snape got a little closer.

"Riddikulus!"

Snape suddenly wore a dress with a red hand bag.
I laughed so hard and started to lean on Harry's shoulder for support.

"Good job Neville. All right, everyone form a line!" Lupin said.
We formed a line and I was behind Belle and Ron was in front.

"Let's turn something that we're afraid of into something funny." Lupin said.
He put on some music.

"Ron." He called him.
Ron walked up casually and the boggart turned into a spider.
His face was priceless.

"Keep calm, Ron. Wand at the ready." Lupin said.

"Riddikulus."

The spider suddenly have some roller stakes on.

"Great Job! Now, Isabelle!" Lupin said.

Isabelle's POV
"Great Job! Now Isabelle!" Lupin said.

I smiled and walked up to Ron's boggart and pulled out my wand.
Then the boggart transformed into fog.

And I really don't know what's going on.
Then the fog disappeared and it revealed my friends, on the ground, dead.
And on the ground, was ice.

Why am I afraid of my own powers? I thought.

Then suddenly....

"Hehehehe....what are you afraid of, Belle."

It was a women who's gone insane.
Wait...why is she popping up. I thought.

I raised my wand and pointed at my boggart.

"Riddikulus."

My boggart suddenly changed into Malfoy, dancing.
Everyone started to laugh.

"All right! Brilliant! Erika, you're next!" Lupin said.

I walked back and gave Erika a high five.
Then I saw Malfoy looking at me.

I rolled my eyes at him and went back to the room and watched Erika's.

Erika's POV
When I walked up, the boggart transform into flames.
Harry was on the ground, with...You-Know-Who.

There was blood everywhere with my flames.
He grinned at me and raised my wand quickly.

"Riddikulus."

They both turned into a jack-in-box thing.

"Excellent! Next!" Lupin said.
I went back to the room and sat with Belle.

"Same fear, huh?" she said.
I nodded. "Yeah."

Then we turned to Harry's.
Harry's boggart suddenly turned into a dementor?

Professor Lupin went in front of Harry. The Dementor changed into a full moon.

Oh no! I thought.

"Riddikulus!" Lupin said.
The full moon turned into a flying balloon. It flew everywhere and Professor Lupin opened the cabinet and then closed it.
"All right, that's it for this lesson. We'll do another lesson for tomorrow." he said.

Everyone groaned.

We walked out of the room, but Harry stopped.
"Harry?" Hermione asked.

He didn't say anything.

I went up to him and held his hands.
He snapped out of his thoughts...I think.

"Harry." I said, softly.
"Huh?"

"Come on. Let's go. Don't think about what happen earlier." I said.
Harry nodded.

We went back to the common room and took a rest.
